Wow, impressive game.

Hey guys, i came looking around the site for a new game to keep an eye on that will that be out failr soon and i stumbled upon Cabal Online, i cant belive how much fun this game looks, have any of you got into closed beta yet, i signed up as soon as i saw the in game moveis :O. The action looks so fast paced and fun and the graphics look really nice to.

Let me know what you guys think, im actually pretty excited about this game and so far its had many good thing said about it. The community seems pretty big and friendly to, its also great that its from one of the many none mainstream companies trying to make there way.

Ill be sure to write up a review for you guys once i get into the game, I cant wait to test out the PVP aswell, especially if its as fast paced and action packed as the normal combat looks.

If the gameplay is as fast as frantic as in the clip then it will be to much for my shatterd reflexes to handle

It does look nice I agree.
Most Korean/Manga style games do.
Then they play like boredom is the key design goal

Apparently its not like other Korean grind fests, i have read quite a few post saying how it doesnt have a boring, horrible grind like pretty much ever other Korean mmorpg does, so this should be really good. The main complaint for some people is character customization, somthing that Koreans dont seem to be to bothered about, personally it makes no difference to me and i know alot of other people dont care as long as they get great gameplay and good pvp (if you like pvp, there are none pvp servers to dont worry ). I think the devs actually have the ability to add there own content to with this one, so maybe they will up the customization as it progresses. Its only in its early stages here and i think it will turn out to be a nice game.

I got into the closed beta. the game is not even half as fun as the gameplay videos make it look like. its a pretty basic mmorpg. click, use skills, blabla. nothing special, same thing we have seen over and over again. Everybody looks exactly the same, everybody uses the exact same skill. your character is the same as the one next to you, there isn't even that much diffrence between the classes. pretty basic, standard mmorpg.

I see where your coming from, but alot of games are also like this, RF Online everyone was the same and i know you played that to . Pretty much all games these days have characters and classes that are identicle, its just the bigger name games have more classes to be identicle with, where as this only has 5? i think its 5 anyways.

Another thing to remember is the game still has alot of updates to go through and the actual team behind this version seem very good indeed so far, alot better than most closed beta teams that iv seen anyway.

Been as you have experienced it and i am desperate to, could you possibly tell us some good points about the game , i would really appriciate it.

Im still looking forwad to getting to play it.

I also made it in to closed beta

This game has 6 classes. It's a pretty standard mmo with a bit faster combat, a bit different skill/level system, somewhat different universe and fun combat. I think PvP will be great. Anyways it's fun enough. PM if you make it in to the beta.

Hey there, thanks for the reply im glad to hear that you are enjoying the game, alot of people seem to really like it. Hopefully i will get into the closed beta soon and then i will work out how to pm and send you one. I am guessing your in game name is Jackcolt ? .

The combat looks really really fun.

Oh could you possibly explain somthing to me, i noticed there are none pk servers and pk servers which is simple enough, but what is the full warfare server, how is it different from the other pk servers. I think its channel 7 the one that i am talking about.

Hi Elnator, i guess we posted at the same time , yeah it does look pretty arcade pace style fighting and personally i am into fast paced action and i think mmorpgs should do it more often instead of this bland slow style (nobody in a real fight would swing a sword as slow as they do on everquest 2 ) but i see where your comming from and i respect your opinion. Are you going to give it a go once it hits open beta ? its worth a try i guess.

Yeah, if it goes open beta or has a free trial after release I'll probably give it a spin just to see what it's like. Even DDO's pace pisses me off sometimes though. I like to have time to think while playing an MMO... for me it's about player interaction more than how fast I can sling a sword around

One of the things I think that is causing "modern" MMORPG's problems keeping people is none of them have time, anymore, for players to really get to know one another. You're so busy racing through the adventure that you don't have time to talk. EQ's dreaded "downtime", for example, allowed people to talk and get to know one another and form friendships... Same with UO.... And other titles (DAOC, etc). Today's games, however, are so focussed on eliminating "downtime" that the player relationships get lost in the mix. MMO's aren't social games anymore. Though DDO took a good step by including automatic voice chat in the game, which helps a lot even though downtime is minimal / non-existant... with voice at least you can talk... although it does hinder the immersion.

So I will probably give it a go once it's in open beta or a free trial... but, like I said, since I'm more about the social aspect of MMORPG's I doubt it'll be my thing. Flashy Anime' graphics combined with arcade style gaming tends to turn me off.

Pro's:
-Easy to learn, good tutorial
-No hard grind
-Lots of quests, its not the usual korean grinding
-quest stories are actually intresting for once, from missing people to more funny things, as to avenge a cat of the weapon smith called butterfly
-GREAT looking animations
-no downtime, you do use a lot of potions, but far not enough to be called potion spam.

cons:
-ugly graphics
-No customisation, not on skills, not on stats, and not on looks. its pretty bad, even for a korean game
-combo system isn't half of what it could have been, for as far as I noticed, its almost the exact same as using normal skills, but it could be I'm doing something wrong

-quest still are "go kill XX" or "find XX"

overal, its a pretty nice game. Its pretty standard. I can't comment on the size of the game, as the current cap is only lvl 50 and only 10% of the gameworld is playable, because its closed beta. don't be fooled by the pretty animations and the slogan:"the revolution of action". it isn't fast paced action, its just like other MMO's. the animations take long and look great, which make it look like fast paced, but it really isn't.

Well anything where the weapon is continuously hitting and not pausing for 5 secs between hits to me is fast action for an mmorpg ::::01:: .

Thanks alot for the info and its good to see that you have more pros than cons. I have also just read that its only 10% of the game that we are able to play so far, which to me is great, it mean that there is a good chance that there will be a whole lot of neat suprises in the rest of Cabals content.

Im considering letting this post die and starting a more specifically named post lol, this one didnt seem to get a huge amount of attention due to Wow being in the name i think.

Hey garrik.

I haven't checked all features yet. I've mostly been looking on the UI, combat, missions, quests and the features. Then I've also been in forum with technical assistance to the unfortunate souls who can't enter the game

Anyways it's not servers, but channels. That means you can go from a normal channel to a War channel with the same characters. As far as I know, I think it's open PvP in the War channel, but I'm not sure.

this game looks great when you see the video and it starts off great aswell but then you find the depth is almost non existant..

After you pass around level 20 every level is the same, as you level you get afew quests some are kill and collect quests some are travel quest from npc - npc and then ther eis dungoun clear quests. After you complete these 4-5 quests you have a chunk of level left to grind out then you level up and rinse / repeat..

The towns are petheticaly small the combat is repetative, I do really like the combo system with the gauge it does add some skill to the game allowing a better player to pull off big combos where a newb can not.

The training dummies are horrible and Im guessing they will be removed soon atleast not be there in retail as it just promotes afk skill leveling and stress on the blood ice map with crowds apon crowds of afk skill farmers.

The itemization isnt to great either you got your normal wepon / armors and then there is blue weponm armors which you can socket. There is no rare / unique drops there very few armors and most are worn by multiple classes leaving not much reason to hope for uber drops.

All and all this is a great game for about 2 days but lacks the depth / variety to keep a hardcore gamer liek myself going and going, there isnt anything to even break up the grinding (oh and I assure you it does get grind intensive at higher levels) like fishing , socializing, crafting ect really its just go "train" or go "afk train on dummies"

Not worth p2p imo.

1: Guild wars 2!? Guild Wars isn't even an mmorpg, why the heck do you call an mmorpg guild wars 2!? that really, REALLY made no sense.

2: you only played a few korean mmo's. its like playing everquest 1 and then saying the entire western market sucks.

That Guildwars comment is a classic, i cant for the life of me work out how someone can even compare Cabal to Guildwars, did you even look at the screenshots or movies, there are absolutly no comparisons apart from they are both fantasy and both have weapons in them.

As for depth, im not really after somthing that has alot of depth ill play EQ2 for that, i want somthing that i can go into play and have a blast playing. Everquest 2 feels like to much work sometimes, following all the story lines and going here, there and everywhere. Id much rather be able to kick the crap out of mobs and npcs till my hearts content, but thats just my style, im a grinder not a quester.

Another thing about the game is that its only just starting out here, alot more is yet to be added, so who knows what else will be in the game when it goes live. Ill be sure to write some form of honest review once i get into the game.

Actually, i got into the beta but i havent had a chance to take a look at the game. It really doesnt look like a game i would like to play ( im not a medieval type person). Im more of a sci fi person, either this or I play pvp games.

It does look fun but after you get into the game, it is not that great. Like all quality games, It takes up a whole Lot of space on your computer (my computer is stuffed lol) Its graphics are nice. Not that anyone cares but I stumbled across the word Cabal while i was studying (im asian what can i say) for the SAT's and it means "a secret group of conspirators". >.<

Did you apply for beta testing?? I look forward to seeing you in the game... after i clean up my comp of all its games.
