Well it is good to see they hire people of the highest caliber for their mods. ... I was going to say something insulting now, but I really cannot think of anything more foolish than what the mod herself posted. Wow, that is all I can say. Where do these people come from?

Well, it looks like some of the fanbois are taking the post a little too seriously. They are trying to equate his post to IRL stuff now. That is a low blow even for a fanbois.

Mixing IRL stuff into a gaming forum is akin to starting arguments about religion and politics. At least there is one who seems to be a voice of reason. We have to keep that stuff separate...

Life, in an of itself, is not a completely happy place. Nor is it a completely sad one. Sometimes you have to laugh or cry, and Lord knows I have done plenty of both.
Perhaps I'm crass, but I don't think any subject is taboo for humor. I post things I find funny, and I'm lucky enough that sometimes other people think those things are funny too.
'Sad day' was nothing more than a 'thanks for the ride' goodbye post. I hope I did not dreg up any unhappy memories for anyone, that's not what I'm about. And if I did, then I'm sorry.
But, and you knew there had to be a 'but' here, Breading Lung is not a real disease. I do not really work in a KFC. I do not even play D&L. I have tried to be as humerous as possible while not spoiling the joke. I had some laughs, some other people did too, and now it's over.

I'd rather quit on a high note than run the joke into the ground. I'm not quitting because anyone got their feelings hurt, though I did send a PM to Ztyx thanking him for being such a good sport.
Yeah, shame on their moderators. But whatever. I hope Farlan can get their heads out of their asses and deliver their few remaining fans the game they were promised, but I doubt it. I give D&L 2 months before it's just a memory, or it's 'temporarily closed' for restructuring.

As a long time MMO player i have seen friends pass away in a game, first time in EQ1 from a disease, and it always has been a very emotional moment for the community.
We should not mix RL and games but somehow we always get attached to the game we play and his community so i have no understanding for this kind of jokes.
This is incredible. The first few lines will tell ya its a joke and meant to be taken lightly with a laugh. And you can tell its a goodbye post. wtf is wrong with ppl? Some ppl are just too damned anal on that board.

People die every day in wars with no reason. Maybe playing a game whose very purpose is senseless death is sick too? Or maybe the game is just in good fun (well most are at least), and it is stupid to try to compare it to actual event? Hmm.. Maybe?
You are just looking for a reason to get on your high horse. If noone was allowed to talk about anything that hurt or offended another person we'd have nothing to talk about at all, including DnL.

There is not a blessed topic on this earth that someone can't claim offense to..
I've lived more than a few years. I've had family and close friends die of Lung Disease, Alzheimers, Heart Disease (2), Electricution, & a plane crash. I could claim all those topics are my personal "Noone may joke about these" topics. But I don't, because death is a function of life.
The best funerals I've ever attended felt more like a roast than a funeral. The deceased were happy people that didn't want people to wallow in saddness, but to enjoy the good parts of their lives.
And there is a difference between making a direct reference to an individual, and merely joking about a topic. But I'm guessing you don't see the difference.
