First of all, excuse me for this long text.
Well I just finnished school, and now its the summer. I love to come home from my plans to sit down and relax playing and MMORPG the only problem is, I can't find one that I truly like!
Before I go on I want to list a few MMOs, I've played
SWG: First ever, best gaming experience I ever had, great customization from character to proffesions, an amazing MATURE community and lastly a Star Wars feel. I left this game because I couldn't stand the fact that everyday the population got smaller and smaller, it was the worst feeling in the world walking into Coronet cantina to find at the most 7-8 people there. I still remember at launch there would be people crowding the entire city. I left shortly before the CU to WoW
WoW: Horrible customization, heavily loot dependant, long and boring raids (I was in one of the top raid guilds on my server), great atmosphere, fun yet way too time consuming PVP. I left WoW because of School. I have no intention on going back.
Guild Wars: One word: BLEH
COV: Decent community, no loot, repetative quest, PVP was booring, AMAZING customization.
So there you have it, I'm looking for a game with a big community, loot but not heavily dependant, good PVP system, preferable space/Sci Fi atmosphere, and good customization.
Thanks in Advance!

I'm bored too. So bored in fact that I even hit "elite" status on this web site for a short time. I have 4 accounts on EvE online that I'm training (reluctantly). I purchased 2 "power of two" accounts from CCP for 60 bucks each (six month blocks). They are both 3 months old now and have never left the hanger. My two 'main' characters created at launch havnen't been played since the day i learned that my agent was deactived pending a move to another system. I still try to keep them all training though. I have nothing against EvE and I think it is a class act all the way around, I'm just not motivated to play it any more.
I really liked wow, but I've leveled characters to 60 on both sides (alliance and Horde) and I've seen every inch of that world (minus raid content) and doubt I'll ever play that again.
Been playing alot of Lord of the Rings Battle for middle earth II (skirmish mode) to kill time, but that too is getting old.
Not sure whats gonna get me playing again.
P.S. is it just me or has the "reply" button been getting the "creating a new topic" page...requiring a subject
well, I guess everbody holds his breath for the releases this fall
I was terribly bored after I quit wow.. now I play ryzom for free when I'm not out enjoying the summer (unlimited trial ftw !)

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"

Steady steady - I was only joking, couldn't resist
To the OP I would say try both EVE and Ryzom. It sounds like community is a major aspect of your gaming and both those have good people playing.
By good I mean they come across as having an above average IQ un-like some of the pond life you meet in more "mainstream" games
Enjoy
