Huxley, as a game.

MestovahMestovah Member Posts: 29

I believe Huxley will be the beginning of something great. Maybe some day to rival the online juggernaut that is World of Warcraft. It combines the two elements of gameplay that draw the crowds forward. The expansive, intergrated universe of an MMO, with the intense multiplayer combat of the FPS genre.

I, myself, am dedicated to both in essence. The MMO world makes you part of something that is bigger than yourself, or that you can even be bigger than - if you work hard enough. Then there is the undeniable lure of player versus player situations. It's almost like a dream come true for me.

I really do hope it succeeds, as well. It's inevitable, anyway. The talent gathered from across the world to work on the game line, the immense corporate monster that is Webzen, and the raw power of the Unreal Engine shall create something amazing.

Don't underestimate this game, fellas.

Without an open world to explore and no PvE combat, this game will never compete with the big boys.

I still want to play it, but more like a 30minute FPS session, not an immersive long-term MMORPG.

The PvE combat has already been guarenteed and they have recruited enough talent for world design. =)

  • Personally, I have absolutely no interest in Huxley. It'll play like Quake, and have PVE combat, which isn't what I want. Besides, the majority of us won't even meet the system recommendations to play it decently. >;S

Well, to each his own.. but I still stand by this game.

What's wrong with quake? I miss the good ole quake days. PVE is in, and I'm glad its in. As much as I love pvp, there's gotta be something else to kill between pvp sessions. Most of us REAL gamers do have system reqs to play this game. Try getting an alienware with quad sli geforce 7900s and you're set

I'm stuck in between. The PvE in Huxley should be interesting, given the Unreal-feel. There is also the fact that it is a FPS.

At the same time, they've told us PvP will be a big part of it. Which should probably satisfy the blood-cravings of most players.

If you was a 'real gamer', you wouldn't buy alienware - You'd build your own. That said, 'real gamers' aren't the ones who have 1000$ to spend on his GFX - The real gamers, are those, that doesn't let their SNES eat dust, just because the graphics are outdated. Real gamers loves games, not just eye candy - Real gamers doesn't have to be filthy rich.

I personally love Quake, I am also a big PvE player online. I personally had no interest in this game at first, but after looking around a bit, I changed my mind. PvE thank god, I hate boring PvP such as Rakion and Gunz where it takes forever to level. Hopefully this will be a pure shootup everything, other then people ^_^

P.S Is this game out yet? I haven't visited the site in ages, or heard any news. Oh and Quake beats WoW anyday, hah!

WOW, you call that the definition of a real gamer? I have all my consoles dating back to Atari 2600 and most collect dust. Why, because Real Gamers always upgrade LMAO "The real gamers, are those, that doesn't let their SNES eat dust,

This topic has become more of a self-elitist showroom than a video game discussion.

    Leave it alone.

I can't wait to see how this game turns out, i'm a big FPS fan but there are no FPS's out there that appeal to me atm. So being into MMO's right now, this game should balance my gaming preference out.

Oh, and Quake 2 was the best game ever!

Some people might consider not playing this game because they cant afford to upgrade - not even thinking to price up the parts required or look at overclocking solutions, simply that they cant afford a new PC or XBOX 360 and then it becomes an RL problem not just an elitist problem.

How will Huxley play differently from Planetside, which I was quite fond of for the first few months of release. If you have not played an MMOFPS before then you cannot say FPS+RPG+MMO does not work.

I'm not impressed by the E3 gameplay trailer. Not that it was done properly at all; shooting plasma rounds into walls does not constitute action!

I'd have to see this one in action to judge it,as I've never really played a MMOFPS like Planetside or WW2OL in-depth. But to say I'm not jumping out of my seat with anticipation would be accurate. I will try any beta though.

Better than being a FAKE gamer I guess?

And get an Alienware with quad 7900's to play a game that you dont even know is good? Please

Lol who'd waste their money on an Alienware...build your own for so much cheaper...

    Sure they do.

And let's be honest, "real gamers" never bought a SNES. A few parents bought them for their children, that was it.

    .

    .

I hope this game has plenty of carebear content, 100 player Unreal tournament isn't going to hold my intrest for a month.

It's an MMOFPS, what more are you expecting?

I couldn't wait for Huxley back in the day (almost a year ago now)....The one fateful day this summer I went to Webzen's website and found out the game will never be released. The second I saw that they had more than one MMORPG in development (3-4 if I recall), I knew nothing would come of it.

It's a really shame, I'm so tired of fantasy: GIVE US SCI-FI!
