The reason starports had a waiting time of 10 minutes way back was due to the fact that there wasnt any content back then, so people werent really in a hurry to get anywhere.

As opposed to now where you have lots of content and 1 minute waiting times to get there quick, but no people left playing to get there?

I remember when SOE put in instant travel in EQ, completely changed that game's social dynamic too...

There is a catch-22 though, there were players bitching about the wait times back then and you don't hear complaints about the 1 min wait.  SOE failed to recognize that their timesinks (shuttle, fatigue, wounds) satisfactorily substituted for content for a large portion of the community.

I agree at the end I missed starports. The wait forced people to talk to each other, there was always someone selling somehting, or dueling or doing somehting weird. There were people that trained flying animals to fly in circles arounf the starport with names advertising their shop or whatever. These were grand socializing events.

I have to disagree.  I wanted to play the game, not wait at starports, or shuttleports.  There was plenty of opportunity for interaction with the community in the Cantinas and Med centres.

I dont remember the exact times, but I did love the wait at starports for all the reasons you enumerated.  That being said, the original times were probably a little too long.  Personally, I liked the wait after the first revision, whatever that was and agreed with changing the wait at the shuttles.

Oh my -- asking what game YOUR playing and if you knew what we had before -- vs now.

SWG does not have plenty of players if this was the case then server transfers and people complaining about MERGERS would not happen there sport.

Wake up --- read what people are posting.   When they ask for a MERGER it is not because they want to lose all they built up over the last few years for thier own health...   You have to read these and ask :"why?"  Not deny it.

The last time people denied somthing the NGE happened.  Anyone remember the "Uncles brothers, nephew?"... Oh man we all did NOT want to believe that guy.    Damn he deserves a freaking Award for that attempt at telling us the truth.

I really enjoyed the wait for the shuttle, it gave it a more realistic aspect to the game, I thought it was always great to just chit chat around with people who were also waiting, unfortunately the majority of the player base hated it. I do not know why, I guess it was just not there beer and pie. Thank you for your time.

Damn byotch dat aint no friggn moon fool, dat be a friggn space station byotch.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.  Lots of NGE fanbois on $OE forums asking for mergers and even griping about lack of players, with these comments/requests there is no way the game currently has "plenty of players".
