MMO's are something completely diffrent then single players games.

I know that dude, but, theyre really good at making rpg's. Its biowares time!
they'll make something even though mmo genre will be unique
yeah... but those were single player RPGs... If we just base their MMO project on the singleplayer RPGs they have made.. i think we are in trouble. The game will be very difficult to play if it has to pause the action for all of us every time someone targets an enemy Of course they wouldn't do that to us... I'm just saying it's difficult to guess how they would do with an MMO, basing it only on their success with singleplayer RPGs.
BioWare is not even on the same scale! They are RPG devs, which I don't see any worthy of such a title in the MMO industry unless they have past experience with a RPG company, yet they fail to change the MMO they join into a RPG!
Baldur's Gate is THE referrence. Torment make even Brad McQaid and his team dream sooo THEY name their company SIGIL, the main city of Planescape, where Torment happen. Neverwinter Night is a decent game and many peoples in EQ where praising it as the best game ever. Fallout is awesome. IDs are gorgeous! KOTOR are awesome and success on their own!
The only MMO company which can claim they have soo many success are: Blizzard! And guess what, their best success is their MMO and they barely have a RPG title which I would argue is not a real RPG with Diablos!
You have a right to not believe, I have a right to think you are a fool. See the roof, put the bar higher and I am sure BioWare will manage way above nonetheless! Not to mention that they won't betray their fanbase, so it will INCREASE and developp furthermore. After they release their MMO, they will be the company with the highest fanbase!
I would follow BioWare, to the Abyss themselves! You of little faith!
I'm sorry, but you still fail to point out why they would make a great mmorpg. you name countless rpg titles. thats fine they were great games, but they were RPG's. not MMORPG's. its like day and night. they have NO experience. Toyota makes great cars, but they will also make great airplanes if they decide too, because hey, look at the cars they make! Just because Blizzard does it once does NOT mean BioWare will do it too.
its like horse racing.
Would you put your money on a horse that has prizes on its name with a jockey thats experienced. or on a footballer who has never ride a horse before
I'm sorry, but you still fail to point out why they would make a great mmorpg. you name countless rpg titles. thats fine they were great games, but they were RPG's. not MMORPG's. its like day and night. they have NO experience.

Did Blizzard make an MMORPG before WoW?
No, they didn't. and their game turned out to be great. but how does that mean Bioware will do the same? I am not saying Bioware CAN't do it. I don't understand why people hype a game so much that doesn't even have a NAME yet just because of a company name that has no experience with mmo gaming!
You cant beat the fact that WoW is the best. Most mmorpgs out right now make mmorpgs a JOB to have fun. What? IM playing 15$ a month for a virtual job? Um no. Let me log on a few hours have a blast and go back to real life that is what WOW was, What WoW is and what WOW ever will be the best mmorpg ever.

Sure, I can see your point. But what I think we're all forgetting here is it's not just an amateur studio, saying they have "no experience" is well - mad. Not only do they have some amazing designers, and a history of making triple A products, but who says they can't recruit new talent? Wouldn't that alone, mixed with deep gameplay experience result in a truely hypeworthy MMOG?
You cant kill WoW, WoW is the unstoppable force and the immovable object all in one. Age of conan...psh that looks like another DDO wannabe. DDO hmm wasnt that supposed to be the WoW killer? What happened? Vanguard..Woah this is the WoW killer right here hmm seems like SOE has taken over the rights the only company that has killed their own games.
Yes You may argue WoW gets boring at 60 BUT Wow has been out for almost 2 years now.. people have been 60s for the longest time now yet they still get Increased populations rather then losing their populations. The expansion will just haul more players in.
I forsee The WoW expansion to sell out more numbers then Vanguard and AOC combined.
Hmmm this has to be one of the most innane posts I've ever seen. Clue #1: No MMORPG has ever killed any other MMORPG. WoW hasn't even killed any MMORPG's. Clue #2: Nobody is saying another RPG will kill WoW... at least nobody with a lick of sense. WoW will eventually decline on it's own as it's player base grows bored with the game and moves on and as the game ages. Just like EQ, Lineage II, UO, DAOC and other games before.... Eventually WoW Will dwindle... it'll take time... after all UO and EQ are still chugging along 10 and 8 years later. But eventually it will wear down over time. Possibly in a much shorter time because it's retention rate isn't as high.
I do agree though: WoW expansion will sell more copies than Vanguard and AOC easily. After all there are 6.5 million people playing it already. Whereas Vanguard is a no-name MMORPG that will have to establish it's own market and AOC is a relative unknown outside the avid MMORPG commuinity.... neither of which are WoW's majority audience and are, typically, a much smaller audience than the crowd WoW draws.

They have experience, but not with the mmorpg genre. and thats what we are talking about. and if they recruit new talent, then how would they be any diffrent then other mmorpg companies? because it will be new staff then, staff that has nothng to do with any of Bioware's products.

Ok, this is getting very confusing. You do realise that for the couple of years WoW was in development, they recruited new talent at some point right? We have already agreed that Blizzard had no experience with MMORPG prior to WoW, so why can't Bioware do just as well again?
As for the bit in red, again I refer to the way WoW was created. At no point would there have been a room full of 50yr old Warcraft I, II, III designers. They would have had to bring in new talent, and incorporate it with their older designers. Just like I said before, with Bioware.
Porn Online the only game so far to be fully backed by the porn industry. Make a name for yourself in this immersive metaverse and participate in thousands of actions. You can unlock new techniques through practice and grinding. Unlike most mmo's; Porn Online has an invested 200 million US dollars will mostly dethrone WoW. It even includes an in-game recording module.

But don't be afraid, the only companies that I could trust more to deliver an awesome game would be Black Isles and SSI, since they are long dead I am sure BioWare would only smile nicely and say that indeed, these were the best companies!
Be jealous all you want. Go think whatever you want. BioWare has my total and unflinching trust. Of course in their design room they will have a lead designer saying them that they are only a bunch of noobs, so they work hard and doesn't take anything for granted. Which is exactly why it is going to be sooooo good on top of all their ACHIEVEMENTS!
I think I remember many peoples who are currently bitching that were fanbois for games to be release that deserve FAR less the support I am showing to BioWare!
The only way this game is not going to be the best MMO ever is if they fail on a technical level, in which case they will cancel it. No points on focusing on that, let's just cheer at their DESIGN team. BioWare MMO, without even a name and merely a few months old, prolly has more DESIGN work and pages, history and developpment, than any of the currently existing MMO.
In BioWare we trust. Be jealous, be mean, be evil, I don't care. BioWare is going to be the best MMO ever and I have no doubts of this!

Holy crap GL getting on a high horse aren't you? Getting pissed at little things now. First it was my joke post about how a movie is better then WoW. And I even said it was a joke. Now just getting all uptight on someone who shows a fanbase to Bioware... I mean, yeah cause WoW diffinity doesn't have its numbers because it has a strong fanbase from Warcraft, Starcraft, or Diablo.

Who exactly is working at their New studio in austin? Some of the best and most experienced in field. Bioware is spending some cash on this one!! I personally have Full confindence that this team will make a winner.

In the end, WoW well kill itself. No games last for ever. For example, I love Star Craft, the only reason I'm not playing it is because I had my fill. Same thing goes with FFVII, Diablo, Team Fortress, and Counterstrike. All great games, but they become boring once you played to a curtain point. The reason why I believe WoW is so popular is because people got tired of RTS and FPS moved on to MMORPG and WoW happen to be well known.
You know, all things end eventually. Back when EQ1 was the king of the genre, everyone said "Nothing will kill EQ" and "No MMO will ever get over 1 million subscribers" and stuff like that.
