Wish Server technology.

I've heard that WISH is using new server technology to make the game as ULTRA Massive Multiplayer Online RPG.

Now I'm trying to read more about this game.

Has anyone got a link that talks about the technology they are using?

I'm not so sure about this new ultra server thing....I assume they are trying out that new DX capable server transfer...I'll try and find the link.

Ok, Higgsboson.  I just dug out this old email I had sent the Wish staff a long time ago about this Ultra MMORPG thing (UMMORPG).  All they told me was that the apparent new technology would allow all players in the Wish world to play on one single server.  Pretty impressive considering that thousands of players are always on.  One server cluster is used to support the entire game system...they wouldn't give me the name of the actual server technology.  I'll go try and look it up.

Yeah that's what I read a while ago. Impressive indeed. That's why I would like to know more about it.

I'm thinking along the line of distributed and embedded system technology. But I could be wrong.

I thought they had posted a picture of their server technology on the website...but of course right now the site is down.  I think they are remaking it or something.  I really think I saw a picture of it, though...unless I'm thinking of some other game.

    Do you have the link?

    I can't find it from google.com

Everything I've found leads to a picture link to the Wish official site, which like I said above is not up right now.

Yes, I know about the main site.  But when you go to that link, it just takes you to that page which says the new page is under construction at the moment and will be coming out in the very near future.

actually anarchy online was the first really big one. think they have a 20-50k at once per server thing its been a wile since i heard the numbers so i could be wrong but it was allot originally they planed for only 1 or 2 servers for a estimated 200k-400k accounts last i checked they only still had the first 2 plus a german or was it a asian server i cant remember and im to lazy to go look image

I believe they are using a fairly new technology called InfiniBand.  I have done quite a bit of research about it myself for work.

It is a non-blocking communications system similar to Ethernet networking.  But the catch is, it runs at speeds between 2.5Gbs to 30Gbs.  I do not know what implementation they are using though.

This InifinBand allows their rack of servers to commnicate between themselves much quicker than a traditional 1Gbs or even a 10Gbs Ethernet Network.  Infiniband has some features that make it much more desireable than Ethernet, but it is also MUCH more expensive than Gb Ethernet.

The reason they can have so many players on one server is due to the fact that it is pnc (point and click) movement.  I tried Wish and pnc is just not for me.

Yea I have my doubts about point and click movement myself. I always figured the "Ultra" in morpg was just hype to try and get them a niche to make them stand out on the shelf.

I think you may be mistaken( not sure)  WWiionline has used a single server set up since release (nearly 3 years ago)  it supports a community of over 50k easily.  I am not sure if they were first, but the first I am aware of.  I don't recall if CRS has ever stated how many it can hold simultaneously
