Well I like to look at it this way.

    Would you rather see...

    A. Disgruntled employee gets home from work, loads up counterstrike on his comp and commences to blowing people away.

    Or

    B. Disgruntled employee gets home from work, loads up his high powered rifle and heads out for the nearest water tower..........and commences to blowing people away.

Call me crazy but I'm gonna go with A.

LOL, I bet everyone on the Comedy Central network is laughing at this. I wish Carlos Mencia did a skit on it. Congress need to focus not on the VG or the kids, but the ones who brought the child in this world. There are a lot of stupid parents out there and when you don't have good parenting, you kids do stupid things and make stupid dicisions.

I'll explain alittle bit. A couple weeks ago Congress met to discuss the effects of Video Games on society.. And they discussed it. Shared their views.. Some were for video games.. most were against. And anyways the guy who is angry at the daily show is a tard because I admit the daily show did focus on him.. But they didn't misquote him. Infact they just played the video for a good 30 seconds of him talking. And he said that Video games are bad.. especially in inner city lower class kids. because they dont know the difference between real life and the video game. But video games are ok for upper middle class kids.... And he went on talking about that... Then when the cut back to Jon Steward.. He didn't say much.. he just said.. "wow" or something like that.

In one part of the video that ran... There was one congressman who started telling a story about how he was in his living room watchin his kid play video games and he couldn't help to think how this could affect his kid in the future.. Then it cut back to Jon Steward... and He said (pretending to be the congressman) "And as I sat their.. HELplessly.. Watching my kid destroy his life... " I just had to laugh.. Parents are so retarded. So quick to blame any problems they have onto society and not to themselves..

I wonder if like.. umm Enigma would do if his son did something out of violence. I wonder if he would blame video games too.... or what any gamer parents have to say for that matter.

Daily show episode about the videogames

Since when does what congress says hold any water? The words from a comedian should be taken more seriously than the words from a congressman. Comedians are paid to be funny, congressmen are paid to go with the majority.

OMG that ABC report made me angry..
FURTHER Showing my point that Congress is just a buncha Ftard idiot morons that don't deserve the brain they have....

Now they are saying that since a VIDEO someone made of Battlefield 2  (which they mistook as a add-on game) was killing Coalition forces... and taht that video was found on arab websites... it means that they are conditioning their kids to kill american soldiers... that is some of the stupidest crap i've ever heard.

I have no idea what congress plans to do to "secure" the internet against this type of "terrorist threat" but i imagine they would try to restrict video games, regulate them or maybe control the internet altogether in order to flush out this "attack" on america. LOL!

This is why SOE dumbed down SWG, because Congress couldn't be Jedi's.

Remember those hearing the senate held about violent video games?  (or congress don't remember which)

You want to know how long this moronic "blame the media, blame the games" crap has been going on?

Would you be suprised to know that in the 40s the senate (or congress) held hearings on the effects of the media on delinquency.

Its amazing how dumb people can be, especially politicians, or smart if you look at it from their point of view.

Think about it!  The freaking 1940s media was causing kids to GO CRAZY, yeah right, but it was easier than addressing the real issues.... like maybe, oh i don't know....

Single mothers raising children whose fathers died in the war and were financially unable to provide a proper home life for their children?

The continuing urbanization and all the social ills that come with it?

or the thousands of other problems that would have actually an effect on youth crime.

Anyways... The Daily Show rocks, and Jon Stewart is my hero!

In addition to the election process, senators should be forced to take an exam that would test their cognitive abilities: The test should encompass everything from mathematics to economics, since they are making decisions that affect the economy no matter how you look at it.

I also think that senators should have no less than a PhD in economics and/or a social science (or any real science). A BA in law or political science (or anything as worthless) does not mean that the individual understands anything besides how to find consistencies with written laws; the creation of new laws requires complex modeling and higher reasoning that is often found outside of the courtroom.

This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.

The thing about politicians, they make make laws and policies for a world they dont live in.

Theres hope though, in 10+ years the Generation X'rs will start shuffling into office, and we grew up dramatically different from current politicians, I think we will be the ones to break down a lot of barriers. ;)

I think its simply a way of scape goating.

It costs money to really solve the problems that contribute to youth violence, money that congress has already promised to their corporate puppets.

Its a hell of a lot easier for them to point the finger at a video game, put on some theatre to show everyone they are fighting for their children's futures than it is to really solve the problem.

It is amazing how stupid the general public can be.

A lot of them don't actually believe this crap.  They just know it'll get them votes.

Their sons are probably playing GTA while their raving about it in Washington.
