I was a tester of DDO and the game was OK, but it didn't catch my interest all that much. Has it really improved since launch? Should I maybe give the trial a try?
What are your opinions on this game right now and do you think I should even bother playing it again?
I'm so bored it's ridiculous. No other decent MMO's out right now, not even in open beta.
Thanks for the advice.

I just finished trying ddo out again and its boring The illusive new content hasnt arrived and the quests are set up in a way where you can only get bored of them. Atleast if it was straight hack and slash grinding I could zone out but when youve done the zone for the 5th time that week or even day and then someone runs into a trap everyone knows about - you jus become overcome with boredom
People are constantly re-rolling but never getting past level 3 so its hard to find people between levels 3 and 10 (everyone has a level 10 tho lol). Its very difficult to group as a lot of people that play ddo play it because they only have 30-45 minutes to play and people leave constantly. If you can do the free trial then go for it but I always feel like the fun has to end ... I'll run out of patience to do the same quests again and again or someone will leave (usually the healer - no offence to healers just sods law) and the party will then collapse with the quest uncompleted.

So it can't be solo'ed?
I will run a trial at some point but that's going to cripple the game for me.
They have implemented solo difficulty for the level 1-3 content and there are 10 levels.

one that recreates the classic pen and pencil game Dungeons and
Dragons and features 9 classes and 5 races which includes the Ebbaron
Warforged race. Loaded with D&D authencity, the drills are always
running in the background as Dungeon Master text appears across the
screen and deadly spells and traps test your reflex and will! You may

Honestly, from a fellow DDO beta tester, if you were bored in beta, you will still be bored. Gameplay has not changed. Yes they have added solo option to dungeons, but honestly with the right gear, you can solo most of the harbor stuff on the normal setitng anyway. The quests they have added are fun, the first 2 or 3 times through. but they quickly get old, and its very hard to find a level 10 group willing to explore, and not just zerg through things. Luckly i have a group of RL friends that play together, but honestly if we didnt have our own groups we would have all probably quit by now. Sept 19th NWN2 comes out, if you can hold out that long. Will save your the 15 bucks a month, and it will be real DnD.
It IS a fun dungeon generator and the quests are better than most other MMORPG's out there but the game has a dramatic lack of content, you can easily burn through all of it in 1-2 months time. Not to mention the fact that the content is so imbalanced that most people usually only do about 20 of the 200 or so quests available within the game. Also the game population is getting very scarce at all times except 'peak' time (about 8pm to about 1am US Eastern). Turbine makes this worse because they don't publish server populations so players can't even move to more populated servers to avoid the barren ones.

That's a shame. I really liked testing the game when it was in beta but I just got bored out, and from what you guys are telling me is that I'll get bored again.
I just wish 1 company would make a good DnD MMORPG. Just one that is done right. Maybe some day.
