Very interesting idea, you know taiwan looks a lot like texas in the united states, austin to be more specific. Also I have always wondered what its like to ride a motorcycle

The motorcycle riding was cool.
But he's just another one of those one of those many person who always wanted permadeath in mmo related games.
Well, I talk about a way to make perma death interesting and fun. And with the whole reincarnation idea....death isn't really all that perma. For those that don't want to watch all of them.... I talk about how to make "permadeath" fun in the 3rd part.
And if some links don't work....they're probably just busy....try again in a few secs.

Absolutely fantastic video and I 100 percent completely agree with you. I remember when I first started playing Ultima Online I was PK'd, and lost the current stuff I had on me (Some regs, like 700 gold, and some really crappy armor). I was a little miffed, but, more than anything I was motivated to become better. The adrenaline rush that I experienced playing UO could not be compared to anything else I've ever played, because, as you point out I had a chance to lose a little bit of what I earned.
There is a couple things wrong in your video just for reference. There was no levels in ultima online, just skill points. And any dungeon, if you went in deep enough had some pretty mean monsters. But, maybe you were just saying that so the WoW (Which I currently play) crowd, and newer MMORPG players could understand you better.
If ultima online was still like that I would definitely still be playing it today. But, it's not, and you can look at there rapidly decreasing fanbase decline (more than just the trammel/felucca update did that to the game though).
And on a side not...to add to what you're defending in Ultima Online you could only ressurect someone if you had 80+ magery, or 80+anatomy and 80+healing, which was rather difficult to get back THEN, especially to new players. In MMORPG games now, people get ressurect at about level 10, which takes a few hours to get to in almost all MMORPG games.
Thanks for the props. I see that U.O. still has expansion packs coming out fairly recently. Maybe I should go back and give it another go. Mind you I found another game that's like U.O. and is free www.conqueronline.com , so kinda hard to pay for it when Conquer is pretty close.
I watched it yesterday,to be honest it was a intresting thing to watch.Im 100% all for open pvp and it has to have heavy repercutions. But perma death just dont sit well with anyone.losing xp dont sit well with anyone but losing all my stuff is no big deal in a crafting econamy,.
Alot of things that got said in the video are true,.Some things may need to be polished and we can tell your not a hard core or a 100's of hours type of player, there was holes in your storys ,but the point of view was true to fact.
Im just hoping I can relive some of the old times in UO with Roma victor,if not ill have to pvp in guildwars and maby play saga of ryzom for crafting and exploiring. To be honest theres no MMORPG thats really doing it for me anymore and im playing MMORTS games,Civ4 and FPS games till something really pulls me in,.But I need fear of open pvp freedom and a indepth skills system.thats the only place to date where I can Roleplay.*cough* sandbox *cough* Zzzz EAT COLD STEAL MAGGOT!!!!! tis will be our last dance! CHARRRRRHGerszfft *cough*
