im gonna guess it has something to do with company stability and stocks... If the rumors persisted and arent true their stock could be affected, along with other companies who have deals with SOE..

Replacing one of their top level guys will definately impact their stock price since they'd be admitting that the person who the board of directors chose to keep increasing profits (Smedly) hasn't been doing so and needed to be replaced. CEO's typically only stay the head of a company for 7yrs or so, a few stay longer. They are constantly switching jobs either because they found a better one, are getting replaced, or decided to go into some other venture.
Either way, such a move has to be denied if rumors uncover it until they find a suitable replacement. You can't go around and admit, "Yeah he's gone," because the next question would be, "So who's replacing him." IF you can't answer that, then expect your investors and any pending deals to go on a dumping spree. Maybe its Koster and he has to transition into the role or maybe they're looking for someone else. For now, Smedly losing his job might have some truth to it. $OE has lied in the past. At least it gives me something to read in the mornings.

Hmm...things are starting to look strange. What possible reason could you have to delete the Smed Tracker?
History has shown us that SOE will deny and lie about the truth up until the day it comes true. Remember the starter kit being posted on Amazon?
Getting rid of the Smed will just be part of a large healing process. Fixing a reputation is difficult to say the least. But the head cheese in an organization sets the tone....and a good leader will eventually bring SOE back around. I just hope they have gotten with an elite executive headhunter to find his replacement....promoting from within in this case (an unhealthy company) is a mistake. When a cancer sets within an organization, you need new blood.
Sony HQ can't help but look at Blizzard and notice a properly released and managed MMO means sick money. Its not like SOE is nipping at the heals of the industry leader..it is getting trampled.
But he DID ask me further credential information. Background, media agency ETC.
