You have to read this before you play!

My apologies to anyone who read my post and decided to give these folks your personal information.  At the time there was a different staff in place and they were providing really great customer service.  Since the game was sold it has been a disaster as the billing is a mess.  People can not cancel their accounts and are being billed even if they log in to the game to try and get help with the issue.  Every other company under the sun simply cuts you off if your bill is not paid but these folks keep your account on in the hopes you log in and then ram you with a charge.  It is unbelievable that they are still operating.

Here is a direct quote from Peaches, a senior moderator on the official HZ forums --  "Have you logged into the game since EI took over? If so, are you aware, that by doing so, you actually gave them permission to bill you for your monthly fees? Its in the Eula, you might want to check that aspect out."

All I have to say to peaches is that you might want to consider the legal and ethical implications of having a game where people can not cancel, are billed unethically and not given the common courtesy of a response to repeated inquiries for help.

We are having some billing issues IN NOT AN ANSWER!  How many years can they use this tired old excuse.  You can not say a trial account is free then charge for it immediately and keep advertising this lie if you know it is in fact going to result in a charge.  At a minimum you must take down this false offer.

I have had a trial account (and was charged immediately) that I have attempted to cancel for almost a month not and can't get the time of day with these folks.  I finally canceled my credit card to ensure I didn't get hit like the many people on the official HZ forums that have resulted in overdraft/Overlimit fees.  This has gone way beyond what is reasonable and they should not be allowed to continue operating like this.

well big company small or anywhere in-between it really is nice to see when a company acts though it owes its living to the customers and treats them as such.  As you said in this day and age that speaks incredibly highly of them.

I don't see why they can't setup a paypal account and be able to charge people monthly that way.

It is free and paypal's IPN service is pretty easy to setup.

I think the challenge would be connecting a payment made through paypal to the game hardware showing an account is paid for and so on.  If the company is using a billing company, then the correct programming would be in place to insure payment is received which translates to a customer with full playing rights.

I don't think it's a bad suggestion, I just think it's not realistic to think the paypal route would work.  What do I know?  I don't run these games, I play em.

I have a habit of asking the incredible, but if I don't ask I'll never find what I want...

I agree competely with this post!!   The customer service recieved from the good folks at Tulga Games  is Second to none in the MMO industry, they are indeed promt and friendly while doing all they can to help with any problems that may arise.   I recommend this game to anyone looking for a breath of fresh air and a break from the L33T crowd or the pvp mentality that follows most of the current MMOs.
