New rating system r0x

I for one am happy with the new rating system, seems to work perfectly.  For too long have these pices of crap like EVE and WW2 been allowed to look decent or even good. Those ratings were a joke in the past, and at least now people can tell a difference between a crappy and a decent game.  In the past the difference between a good and horrible game was about .5  Keep up the good work staff.

The rating's systemt is mearly a measurement of popularity amougst players for various reasons.

It is not ment to be interpreted as a "bible" swearing one game is better than the other without argument.

In some cases, a very good game does not fair well with the "rating system" due to lack of exposure.

Hmm thats a real smart move there Gorukha

Instead of giving a game straight 1's (which you cant now, thankfully) you very stealthily placed your rating of two games (which from the sounds of your disposition is straight ones from the use of the word "crap") in a public forum.

Way to go with your thoughtful review....you should work for IGN now image

Yes, the new rating is great.

Though looking at the ratings of wwiionline, It does seem to be many all high and all low reviews still.. as graphics, sound, roleplay etc are all very much the same.

I love wwiionline, for me it's no better game out there atm.. and doesn't seem to be any new on the horizon.. Of this Kind. I am waiting on a new, and trying to find some to play now of actual mmorpg's.

My rating of wwionline is 8.5

Wwiionline requires a good computer if you want it to run smoothly, not becuase of graphics but due to some rather hefty calculations being done in the background with each round fired from any weapon.  Also a good 4.1 or 5.1 soundsystem is needed to have full use of the sound image that wwiionline presents.

I can't remember all my ratings excactly, but as far as Fun, value, and community goes, I think I gave that an 10,

graphics 5 or 6 I think, They sacrifice good looks for a complex damage system, soon to be expanded with visual damage on twin-engine AC's to begin with. They are working on a new engine: Unity II

    sound 8'ish

Lag/performance,  8.. I rarely have lag, playing the game from Norway, Though it's a demanding software to run.

rpg: What's that?? 2 at best

Customer service: Id' like to say 10, due to the fact that they frequent the forums, and are able to help alot through there, when the community is unable to. But they can be a bit slow to reach, and get a responce from at times,  I gather from postings on the forums now and then. So a 7 I'd say.

The experience of wwiionline can be severly inflicted by a low-end computer.

Impatience, as you often spend 10-15 minutes to drive somewhere, just to get shot from an "invisible" enemy :) Depot spawning has aliviated(sp?) this somewhat as now you only need an initial assult from a fb and cap a depot linking back to on of your ab's to be able to spawn infantry within the city. You do wise however to have support from armoured units, as such an attack will quickly be attempted to stop, often with enemy armour moving in on the depot and 'suppress' it(camp it) while infantry will try and recap/liberate the depot

Ok.. now this got a bit long-winded so a question to end the post  [hijack] (can move this but on a roll atm :P )

As said, I'm looking for a mmorpg to play with until some of the new ones hit the market, I am In beta of one of them, More I guess I can't say :P (nda) but it's in a very, very early stage atm..

So I need a game that I can DL off the web preferly with a trial. I've Betaed Horizons... Played AO, UO, Trial of AC2, EnB, Atitd. Have tried Endless ages a year ago.. but looking at it now it seem rather dead, besides 50% of the avatars i saw back then was players macroing(wich I don't understand as you then remove some of the point with the game)  So.. any Ideas? [/hijack]

I agree Enigma I should review games for a living :)  My one word rating system would save the readers time spent reading about how crappy some games are.

when you go around saying something is "crap woohooo"; it tells many of us that you never played those games.  Rather, you jumped on the bandwagon with everyone else to "look cool"

A more thoughtful review tells the reader two things:

    1.  You actually played the games you are critiquing (sp)

    2.  Well, thats pretty much it

I imagine that those 2 particular games received your official rating of "crap" due to your inability to understand complex systems.  Yes, I am sure if BF1942 were on the list, it would receive your hisghest vote.  I have beta tested Eve and played WWIIonline for 2 years.  I can assure you while Eve wasn't my cup of tea, WWiionline is an amazing accomplishment.  Though what was accomplished would be lost on your "need instant action" mentality.  You my friend couldn't generate accurate reviews of dung sitting on the floor of a mens room.  Please find a roll of quaters and challenge your mind on some Pac Man or something.  The next great MMO that you are waiting for isn't coming out which ofcourse is "Sonic the Hedgehog Online"

    Have a nice day

Just a note here: you can rate games with all 1's or 10's - all we did was purge past 1's and 10's that were from users who only came here once to place their review.  As long as you do it under the new requirements (rating of 5, 2 reviews per day max) you can rate the game any way you want :)
