SOE Block Party Announced...

I cant see this being a very good idea at all... Any one else agree?

Having access to a billion $ IP - Billions of dollars..
Having access to a massive fan base of said IP - Even more Billons...
Singly handedly alienating them due to stupidity - Priceless.

    Y'know, I'm really torn between 1) making a smart aleck response referencing Terry Nichols and a very crispy Timothy McVeigh and 2) wishing I could attend so I could actually talk with these people, share some objective and constructive criticism, and get some answers.  Guess I'll just have to hope JestorRodo gets some video and posts it!

    i agree with this, it's just a matter of time until they do this regardless of what they say. BUT... should they open classic servers is this the game you still wanna play ?

    communities have been destroyed, there's a "new breed" of people playing the game, and beyond the first 10 minutes of game play, i don't think you'll ever be able to capture that same old feeling again. i know i'll try, but i don't think it'll happen. it'll take a HUGE amount of effort to remove that jaded attitude from the community, and that effort is something that SOE is just not wiling to put forward.

    Muhahaha, I am going to be SOE busy that weekend. I have my m80s now were is my ballpin hammer.

     Ok then . I hate to tell you all but SOE HQ is about 9 miles from Comic con ( a 40 dollar round trip) Nobody would get on a bus driven by SOE, like SWG it would crash all the time but I have a car. Who in their right mind would celebrate anything related to SOE?  I myself will be there to cause discomfort and Mayhem as SOE has cause me. Thanks for the Invite SOE and I love that price !! Free .

    What was destroyed could be rebuilt.  It's really the only chance they have, NGE isn't attracting anyone new, at least not fast enough to replace those who are leaving.

    And yes, them hosting something like this right now is insane.  If I were them I'd have police, guard dogs, metal detectors, and issue kevlar.

    Yeah, that's a brilliant idea.  Remember the video of the "free booze" customer getting irate at Julio Torres?

    Besides, I'd bet a majority of those attending won't be old enough to legally drink.

    I wonder if they're trying out SOE's new system. It's free to attend, but you pay for drinks or food. Then another charge for a table. For $2 you join a group and talk to others. For $5 you can get a parking space for the entire night. And after the party you can buy a log of all the conversations, in a commemorative leather book, for $14.99.

    My take on it:

    just something else to throw at unhappy customers who are complaining in an attempt to prove how wonderful SOE really is...

    "we're adding improvements to the game, we are listening to customers, see we have summits and block parties....." blah, blah, BLAH

    I mean seriously people.  Have you ever seen a company THIS illogical?  The sheer audacity of this...piss off untold thousands of people every six months for a year and a half, then allow them into your building? 

    Any mathematician's want to calculate the probability of mentally unstable gun owners being in the "disaffected" group who have run out of Prozac or will before the event?  I would categorically refuse to attend this event if I worked at SOE.  Yikes.

    This just goes to show you how cavalier these people are about what they have done.

    I think if an unstable gun owner was going to do something, he'd have done it at one of the summits by now. Lets face it, alot of people are angry and talk smack on the boards, but in real life they'd probably bow and blink bashfully at the devs. From all ive seen of the video's of the summits, the worst thing to happen was some drunk guy embarrasing himself in front of Julio and people clapping angrily when they agree with something. really scary...

    Being the summit take3s place in the Peoples Democratic state of California... I would guess no guns will be there... Being they are home to the 9th circus court of appeals, not to mention the nutjob mayor from Sanfrancisco who wants to disband our military, and the no handgun city ordinace (unconstitutional at both state and fed lvls, but they passed it nonetheless..) I think they are safe...
