I think it would be fitting for it to crash and burn the same day the NGE went live in SWG (15th of November i Think) as many SWG refugees found there way to dark and light due to the "promised features".
06-06-06 would have been a good date but sadly they didn't release in December 05 as promised because then 06-06-06 could have been a very accurate deathdate for DnL.

It wouldn't last this long but, April fools day would be fitting, then the devs could make their very first and last post on their own game's forum saying 'hahaha suckers! Thanks for the money! hoh hoh hoh!" (you know that french laugh).
I'd say either fall this year or early next year. This game isn't going to be able to compete when the new batch of games coming around. I'm pretty sure it's why they released it when they did, in the state they released it. They wanted to get it out there and sucker some people out of money before everyone stopped caring about DnL. With Vanguard and AoC coming in the "fourth quarter" I can't see it going too far beyond that.
Ok so August 5th - September 5th, people will be paying for one full month. At this point mos tof them will be maxed out on level and every will realize there is nothing new to keep them interested. I say as of Septemebr 31 the game will be dead. Either shut down or left switched on but abandoned.
I will say September 30th. But, it really doesn't matter much. The game is an utter flop, a total failure, and is costing them money just to keep up and running (if you can even define it's current state as either 'up' or 'running').
The simple truth is that Farlan/NPC deceived and lied to enough people that there are more people who want it to fail than there are that want it to succeed.
They managed to turn one of the most loyal and patient groups of followers into bitter haters who sit around and talk about the game failing like it's Christmas Morning (or, perhaps, Christmas Mourning?).
The fact that within a six month time span they turned a great community into a pack of rabid DnL haters is a bigger failure than when they finally have to admit defeat.
We all sat, waited, hoped, prayed and supported these liars, cheats and shills, and when the moment of truth finally came, all we got was slop on our plates which they called a 7 course meal, a knife in our back which they called a deep tissue massage, and a hole in our wallets which they called potential.
Same as I predicted in the last thread on this subject ,I doubt anyone will still be playing by the end of the month, so I have to say sometime in August
What is the current record for shortest duration for an MMO?
It is just amazing to read the forums about how many people are getting refunds (or trying to get one).
3 months from launch (early September), Farlan will likely make a major announcement regarding DnL. I don't know if it will be to shut down the game, or to offer free download, or what. I think they will try one last attempt to get it going. If that doesn't work, year-end they shut the game down.
Sad really, but game companies need to learn that you cannot release games incomplete. It is no longer acceptable. I hope that idea get's hammered home in the MMORPG's official review of this travel simulation. The highest score should be from the fun reading the forums.

It's just like Internet Stocks. There was such an MMO bubble back when DnL started generating interest, that some companies thought that any piece of crap they put on the market would generate a profit no matter how crappy the game was. Not that DnL was looking like a piece of crap, they actually had a great schtick and some decent looking graphics (by 2003 standards).
But now the market is flooded with so many other MMOs that trying to carve out your own little place is nearly impossible if you don't have a decent product. Especially when your product is actually worse than something put out in 2003. And that's all well and good. Many games can succeed without 'next gen' graphics, like Runescape, but the difference with Runescape is that their game isn't based around graphics. DnL's gameplay is so cookie cutter that the only saving grace may have been the grpahics, but by today's standards, even those suck.
DnL is simply a first gen MMO is a second gen market. It has no playability, the graphics are first gen, and the stability is beta at best.

Nah, would have made a better release date.
I'll go with November.
I predicted two months in another thread
after this period EVERYONE has to pay, we'll see if there's enough people doing that

Fanbois now have an out, they can save face by pretending they were just messing with everyone.
I may be reading too much into his recent posts, but I think ZytX is only a few days away from going JeanLouise on the forums.
