in Final Fantasy XI
I wouldn't say I'm a huge FF fan, although I do enjoy FFVIII-FFX.  I've always had my eye out on this game and to be honest it look very interesting.  Although, my rule is to try a game out before I buy it.  Kind of hard to do since there are no free-trials at all, hehe.  Anyways, can I get some feedback on this game at all?  What you all think of it and maybe a way I could try this game out just for a couple of days?  I appreciate it alot guys!

    Meh >.> If the game was $100 I could understand not wanting to pay it, but the Collectors Edition (FFXI+ 2 expansions) is About $20 now, And theres a 30 day free trial. But if you're really that stingy then you're best guess is finding an unused Vana'diel Buddy Pass (They come free in the collectors Edition <.<) Its a 30 day Free Trial of Base FFXI, quite a large download though <.<

    I think you'll enjoy it, but I would read some of what other's have posted, because this question gets asked a lot.  I'll just say it's very deep and very hardcore once you realize how much fun there is to be had.  Most FF games have an extreme hardcore element to them, and this game is no different, but you can play it however you'd like.  It's a challenge in many ways, which keeps me coming back for more.  I find MMOs that are too easy boring.  It has a very cool story that makes you feel like you're the hero of the whole world.  Take all criticism (good and bad) with a grain of salt and form your own opinion.

    this game takes a lot of grinding and tests your patience by the way in my opinion this game's ok, bought mine

    online called gamersloot.net, playin this game to stay away from wow for awhile got bored with it..

    I appreciate everyone's comment on this subject.

    I would go ahead and just purchase th e$20 value...but like you said...I'm very picky about my MMO and my money, lol.  So yeah, I would have to try a pass out first.

    As for FFXI itself.  I have no problem playing a game with alot of grinding and hard. . .I used to be a player of UO and Lineage 2, so something that is hard for me is something that is fun in a way.  I'll keep looking for a buddy pass I suppose.  I appreciate it again.
