I swear, there are more juvenille idiots posting on this website than ever before... Such notable posters as Darktania & Freethinker are nowhere to be found, and the OT section is at it's worse state ever...

What happened?

Are MMO's that sucky right now that people are moving on? Hell, even I haven't been posting that much lately due to a severe lack of coherent thoughts and reply worthy topics...

Political conversations used to have substance, but now we have nutcases like RobbyK (or whatever the hell his name is) and other dictating the political tone of this website...

I think I am gonna have to move on too, really nothing to do or see here anymore...

Too bad, had some good times...

thats why they post here. I think 70% of this websites traffic is like very young kids.

I'm not too sure what you're talking about. Maybe if you'd give us some specific examples of the lunacy instead of just naming a couple of people you admire and one you dislike. Are you sure you're not just mad because people aren't agreeing with you all the time?

Oh, nevermind, you moved on instead of trying to fix things. That's real noble.

This thread wasn't an attack on people like you porgie. It was an attack on the idiots that ruin almost every new thread in the OT section.

I much rather be in the Off topic Discussions then the Pub. I really dont agree with your statement that there aren't any good postings... You dont even have to look that hard. Just because you;ve seen 3-4 bad threads please do not critize the entire off topic population.

How about instead of complaining, Add a good post. then others can comment with their thoughts.

That's good. I try not to ruin them. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I do my best. I just like to read what most people say. I'm sure with anything there is always going to be a person who has to show off or act silly, but I like reading most of the posts. I haven't read many by Ob1sr. Is that like ObeeWan's dad or something?

Now, as for as good posts or bad posts. I guess that's perspective. Anything that has any "meat" to it is usually useful to someone. I am not so sure about the "I like boobies" thread that I saw a day or two ago. Personally, I've met a few people that I absolutely LOVE debating with here because I actually come out learning something rather than just wondering what they put in the Kool-aid today.

I'm not so sure about the floodgates of "idiocy" but there has been a deluge of elitism lately.

i agree. I also Have a couple people i LOVE to debate with. It's always entertaining. I love arguments.. jsut the science of it. I love to see the angles people will use to attack/defend themselves.
Admittedly I've stayed away from my usual gay/religion/politics topics in the past 2 weeks, because they usually take up too much of my time..

anywho... I dont really understand what the OP is complaining about. There are people here. they are just waiting for the right thread.

well, with the huge age range in these forums, u're bound to find juvenile humor and topics mixed with some serious issues and discussions as well, that's unavoidable imo.

Besides, no one has to act serious all the time. Heck, I post a lot of utterly silly stuff just to lighten up or just due to plain boredom.

Rikimaru dosn't know what the OP is talking about. Sure there are 2-3 bad topics, but this community is a most intellegent one compared to other playes such as the Playstation or gameshar boards (don't ever go to the gameshark boards!).

Many great folks have come and goes, and many will.

But having an elitism attitude isn't going to help you in the least, the higher perched you are, the harder the fall.

Personnally, overall, in the long run, beside the lost of the staff who doesn't post anymore, I think the average users is getting more interesting and better overall. The fact they disagree with me, that some can't argue well, that other are fanbois doesn't mean it is bad.

I think you have a very selective memory, about a few precise discussions. Here, at MMORPG.com, welcome to the street! Where the genius and the raving madmen are cohabitating! The only thing in common here between peoples is their interest for the MMOs in general, beyond that, the tastes are widening. Still PvP-centric, yet nothing wrong, I suppose PvP-centric and socialisers will be more naturally drawn to the internet, socialisers prolly to official board, protected by a company who they cheerish...while PvPers will naturally enjoy more freedom like here. But even there, you will have exception among exception.

I like reading some peoples posts here too and have learned from them. Reavo posts stuff that is pretty cool. I think he's one of the few that puts stuff up that's not all a quick search from Wikipedia. He reads books and quotes from them from what I've seen. Also from what I have seen he is a big fan of Jefferson and the stuff he wrote about. I would like to see more people post stuff like that. Anymore Jefferson fans??? That would be cool. I don't know how to find much information about that. And I would rather read a book than Wikipedia see someone quoting Wikipedia. Anyone can type a keyword.

For instance, I didn't know about Jeffersons Bible. That is incredible.
