The last new rumor was that Hipiap was appointed Moff of the Server, given CL500 Health and Damage abilities and the Power to make the Dev's fix the game back to the style of Publish 10.

That dude is such a weasel and his words are choosen so specifically. Those highlighted words are CYA words choosen specifically to avoid direct finger pointing.

See what I originally thought this press release meant (and based on other info I have heard) was that it meant they were going to take all the character database information and set it aside. Wipe all servers and split them in half some NGE, some classic. Once you logged in to the new site you would be able to move your char around to either classic or NGE servers for a limited amount of time till you found one you were happy with. This went hand in hand with the new forum enhancements, talk about server restructure, what that random post said about wiping servers and bringing back classic. Oh well

That's the trouble, SOE has lied so much in connection with SWG, especially the way they hid and covered up the development of the NGE, that they have very little ability to refute rumours, because a good portion of those interested don't believe what they say. This is compounded by the fact that the NGE is so horrible that people WANT to believe these rumours. Even a rumour that the game is going to shut down is more attractive than the NGE.
It cannot be a good sign for SOE that they've gotten far more press in the last month or so for unsubstantiated rumors than for actual happenings. And on note of those happenings, about the only press they've gotten is for the gross mis-implementation of the Restuss event on most of the servers and on the coincidental timing of several key staff members vacations.
Unfortunately, SOE has survived many a lack of good signs in the past.

A freaking AGREED --- Garva by all means is nothing but a forums Nazi -- He in fact has nothing to do with the game itself or the direction of it. They gave him the Dev title so that on the boards people would think it is a DEV that has input and status talking to you guys.
For some of us that know, he is nothing more then a MOD that thinks he is God. He by all means does not give two shits half the time about what happens. Tiggs did, that is why she is gone, Jeassa moved on due to her insight on things and the rest of the Dev team that left of the names we never knew were the smart ones as well.

From what I know I can tell you this: There is new marketing POS, cartons and boxes. Named in the lines of the all-in-one deal. But that is as far as know -- I almost do NOT want to see the box because I like my job way to much to risk losing it. I can tell you that LA does make and spares no expense on making POS most of the time.
Other then that -- they have a new box, it will be coming out soon. I do not know the contents and unless it says PRE-CU or EVEN CU then I pretty much do not want to hear about it lol.

The scary part about that is "the classic original game" what exactly does that mean. Because you can spin those words to mean the NGE. Because SOE believess it is a classic display of an original idea for a game. I think it's made up, but if it is real I seriously doubt that they would anounce a rollback to the old game for november now. They would wait. But what do I know, I am part of the vocal minority and I don't matter to SOE.

Actually, I was thinking that announcing it now would be wise to start turning around bad word of mouth. 4 months would be good time to allow people to get ahold of old friends, get old guilds reorganized, get new people ready to buy it when it's released. They'd need that lead time to build up enough hype for it to work. Also with the E-word now being open source, people have been going crazy in adding and fixing stuff on a daily basis. Even though most of the game isn't working, there's enough there that people can compile a server and log in. That's enough for people to set up servers to work as chat rooms while more stuff gets added. Now would be the best time to announce that the classic game is really coming back. Even if it won't be ready until Nov, that will get people waiting in anticipation for it.

I see that the Red names over on the official forums are already denying this.
The problem is that these same people have lied about upcoming rumors that turned out to be true, that nobody knows what to believe anymore.
And as far as the "Classic" game goes... SOE puts so much of a spin on everything, that people are constantly trying to figure out the "True" meaning in thier words. Its like an excersise in deductive reasoning just to try and figure out thier true intent behind what they are saying. Sure thats what they 'Said....but what do they 'Mean?' kind of crap.
Reasons like these is why nobody trusts SOE, and why they have the reputation that they have now. I think they would get alot farther in thier customer relations if they were just simply honest. Misleading, and trying to Dupe your customers only pisses them off. Not a very good way to build morale.
As for me...Im not going to get my hopes up. Im just going to wait and see what happens. If Pre-CU happens, then Great...if Not.....Oh well. Nothing changes.
It would be so nice to sit on that perfect little hill next to my house on Rori, and watch those Thunderstorms while listening to the rain again though.
