didn't really know how to title this so i just did that. EVer since i started playing mmorpgs back with my first one anarchy online, i always thought too myself wow takes quite a bit of time to get soem good starting gear for these games, how do players do this. Well one day while searching through ebay for pointless stuff and because i was bored i noticed the video game section at the bottom of the menu. Mind u this was when i first started ebay too so i didn't know much about it at the time, i noticed in the onlien game section lots of people were selling ingame currency for cash, instantly i htought too msyelf wow why dotn i just buy a lil from there sellers that way i can get some good gear ot begin with and later purchase more stuff without all that needless "farming" stuff. Well weeks later the addiction grew and grew for more ingame currency. Couple months later im sure u folks could figure out what happenend, yup i was flat broke from buying all that. Know im sure from just reading that ur thinkign too urself wow ur a incredible moronic idiot!
Yes i was. I realized i needed to stop this or im not gonna have money for real life which is more important that game money. I did.......for awhile, every game i ever played since then i found myself buying game currency over and over and over and getting more broke and broke and broke. Even now with world of warcraft im rolling a orc hunter playing now on the teranas server named kajarome, and already im only lvl 2 and htinking and fighting too myself man i better at least spot my guy 100 gold or sumtin from a online currency site so i can at least get him soem good starting armor. Get his weapon skills up, the ones i want at least including 2hnd axes and swords, get him a gun skill from thunderbluff and some travelers backpacks from the ah. Im fightign the urge big time to buy the ingame currency cause i want to stop this its gonna put me under if i keep this up.
So i was just wondering FOR ALL THOSE WHO DOTN BUY INGAME CURRENCY how do u start making money from the very beginning when u have nothing to ur name. I hate to violate the ingame laws and hate ot get kicked out, met alot of awsome people on this game.
any advice ingame or on here would be awsome. I figured myself the beginning lvls id run around kill things grab the loot and sell it only buying what i need at the moment while saving for skills. Then maybe get soem gathering professions so i can jus tsell in the auction house for soem profit. Any questions on what profsssions my new orc hunter could take to help make money and what to do from lvl 1 without buying ingame currency from sites would be greatly appericated. I wanna stop doing this but its so hard and tempting, like drugs and alchol which took me awhile to deafeat them. Thanks ladies and gents ill take any advice even if its scolding i learn well from that

"The love of money is the root of all evil"
My advice to you is stop loving money or, make a rogue. lol
Professor Hubert Farnsworth - That question is less stupid but, you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.
I'd advise to resist the urge to go 'shopping' on the Auction House (AH) constantly. The gear you obtain during quests will suit you fine while you're leveling.
As your leveling, sell stacks of cloth items, such as silk and wool. You'd be surprised how well those stacks sell on the AH.
Imo, the best money maker of the game still remains Herbalism.

Oh, cruel fate, to be thusly boned. Ask not for whom the bone bones. It bones for thee.
For me, I'll learn mining and herbalism. When you get to the higher levels of these 2 it can make you alot of money. Also, if you do roll rogue(wich I suggest you don't with the new review coming up), you should learn enchanting and stealth through the dungeons when you're a high level and collect the blues and greens. Then disenchant them and sell the mats you get from them in the AH.
Greys: Vendor trash like this will get you some good money usually. If a grey weapon drops at the higher levels it will usually sell to a vendor for a good amount.
yeah...
mine/skin or skin/herb for the cash...
There is really absolutely no reason to buy gold in WoW. Until you get to 60 that is
I was very tempted to buy gold for my epic mount and Hide of the Wild materials.
But, I didn't..
I farmed and farmed and farmed....
Hunters make money fine.
What matters is which professions you choose.
As it has been stated before, pick 2 gathering professions, i.e. mine/skin or herb/skin. herb/mine isn't viable cause you gotta have on one or the other. Unless of course you get some mod the will cheat.
If you're going to be playing the Auction House game, I'd highly advise downloading the Auctioneer UI Mod. I've found it extemely useful, and it only takes scanning the AH weekly for 10 minutes to keep the mod's db up-to-date.

Nope, not cheating, and as in "mods" we mean UI mods.
However, mods that would allow you to have both search minerals and herbs up at the same time are illegal.
dude, are you really this hopeless or are you joking with us?
if you want to make a quick fast buck go for skin/mine or skin/herb. Enchant materials aren't worth anything until you get into the higher lvls.
I wouldn't consider the vast majority of available UI mods as 'cheating'. If it were, I doubt Blizzard would've created the WoW Interface Addon Kit.
The mod I mentioned does nothing more than scan, upon request, the Auction House and gathers data on items and sales. You could do this just as well with pen and paper.

If you wanna make some easy money do what I do. Pick a relatively simple instance like say scarlet monestry and solo it. I've got shammy and a priest where all i do is just run through each of the instances with an empty inventory bar food, drink and 5 mana potions and 5 health potions. I just collect every thing. Fropm green loot, blue loot, cloth etc crappy items i disenhant and sell the materials on the AH and the decent loot i sell as is, the cloth i sell in stacks of 20. If you do this once aday you can make a decent amount of cash about 200 gold a week if your lucky, depending on the instance and what you get from the disenchants and loot drops( I do this twice a day).
i do that a bit with my hunter but ive always wondered the decent loot u get from instances do u auction house it if its bind on equip or just sell to vendor?
well i normally sell bind on equips on AH and bind on pick ups disenchant them. However it depends i use the auction tool to see how much stuff has been sold for previously because sometimes you get more money for the components you get when you disenchant the bind on equip.

Then you will be able to try and play starting from scratch. After that work onto the bigger MMOs and the temptation to buy gold should be less, or completely gone, you'd probably be able to enjoy your time as a newb.
