I don't think that theory is valid. You forgot the rabid fanbois in the game. Many of whom have purchased multiple accounts and have been running them throughout the years.
These fanbois will buy whatever SOE/LA feeds them as long as it has the Star Wars name attached to it. Many of the current players actually do not like the NGE, yet they continue to play it because it is a Star Wars MMO. I can definately see SOE taking advantage of that fact and charging more for Star Wars than what they would for EQ. They can even tell the players that they have to charge more to pay for the Star Wars license.
This thread should have ended what..15-16 pages ago, when it was discovered it was a hoax. Amazing.
I mean what could possibly be left to discuss? More SoE hate? There is a thread on that. Who made up the article? Why do you need to know, so you can bring him to eJustice? Pre-cu isnt comming back at the hands on SoE, get over it.

IF this was real... IF this was classic...IF they had pre CU servers...IF they gave old accounts 30 days free....I would absolutely return and give it a try. (me and most of my 112 member guild...many with multiple accounts).
I am reading this and other forums along these lines and I see that there ARE people who agree and would return if this was what it seems. This would be a sensible business decision to save a dying game and get back what they lost. Wait...on second thought, SOE has a history of NOT making sound business decisions.
So I guess we will have to wait and see....

Even though this was shown to be a hoax, it's funny how much of a response that something involving Pre-Cu SWG gets. You would think that SOE would notice all the attention paid to the old game (EMU, requests for classic servers or rollback) and launch 1 or 2 classic servers to make some extra cash off of SWG.

If its all about how much SOE/Sony have lost due to NGE then take this - since NGE i have bought 3 DVD players, 1 PC DVD RW, 1 TV & 1 digital camera - during this i have only had 1 must - it must NOT be made by "SONY" or any affiliate - do the math yourself but it will get bigger as my families needs change.

Why the hell do we need to change anyway? Sure, DVD's are pretty Fragile, and Blu-Ray of course has more Memory/Space/Whatever, but Currently movies look just fine to me, I don't see why we need another Format change.
Of course, I don't know that much about Video's and stuff, so feel free to slap the DVD noob if I'm way off.

Alright then. So basically all it is if you don't have HD-TV is better Security Programs? How is that a plus, lol. And Even if I did have HD, I'd be fine without the increased capability. Uggh.. as much as i Dont want to wade back into this.... Press Releases can be drafted days, weeks , months in advance... One mistake by posting it and boom... Its kinda like new books.. They arrive in book stores well before the "release date", sometimes many weeks in advance... Bookstores can get majorly fined if they sell one of those books before the correct release date...
