Greetings,
September 22, 2004, our MMO Earth and Beyond was closed by Electronic Arts. For all of you that are playing games like EVE, WoW, SWG, EQ, FFXI, CoH/CoV, and other MMOs, imagine that after a few years, the company decided to pull the plug on your game. It would feel crappy! Well, after a few years, the Earth and Beyond community is still there. Some of us speak out, some of us are quiet. I am here to look for ex-EnB players to gather them together, and ask them for their support, and help us convince Electronic Arts to either re-open the game, sell or license the source code to someone else.
There is a current forum at:
Please, if you are an ex-EnBer, and wouldn't mind seeing Earth and Beyond back again, please post your comments. We all know that EnB wasn't perfect, but, it still was fun, and with a little advertising, it might be even better than before.
There are also Fan Sites still open, the newest one is a (almost) replica of the original EnB site located at:
Earth and Beyond Dot See Eh!! (Yes its Canadian Hosted eh!)
And there are other sites as well:
Save or Sell EnB, petition online (An online petition)
EnBExiles (A site re-uniting the community)
EnBX - Fansite (A great place for EnB links and resources)
And there are many other links as well, you can find most of them at EnBX. Please, we all know its a long shot, but we need support in trying to get the game back. Perhaps, with your help, we might be siccessful.
Thank You everyone!!

why not? its the truth. or else EA would never closed it in the first place.
do some research before you post, on why it was shut down. EA shut the game down not because the playerbase wasn't there it was cause they didn't create a playerbase. meaning there was a playerbase for it, but they did not advertise, push the product a lot of people never knew a game like that existed. and the current players that were playing now make up a good chunk of the Eve universe as well as swg at the time of its closure. the game has a good following there's hundreds if not thousands that want the game back. its sad a game shuts down after you have invested a lot of time into it. you buy a game, pay a subscription only to have it yanked from you and now you have nothing, absolutely nothing to play even though you put 100's of dollars into the game. if they won't host the game anymore they need to release it to the players to host it themselves.

The corpse has long been cremated. Sorry, bud...it's dead and gone.

Actually, the real reason is because it would bring EA much bigger profit if they put the team working on E&B on another project, instead of keeping them on E&B and pay for a lot of advertisement. if the deman was big enough, then EA would put up E&B. they aren't stupid. so "do some research".

lol, i have to totally disagree with you. EA has a looong track record of being stupid. can we say sims online? EnB was doing much much better than sims online. i'm sure a lot of UO ex-players can say that UO was an awesome game, EA has a trend of killing games for example EA ran SWG japan, it didn't last long before they killed that project. so its not the games its the company.

Thing is that the sims online needs a much smaller development team then a game like E&B does. EA May have been stupid in what games they pick and create, they definitly aren't stupid when it comes to making as much profit as possible.

I am also not holding my breath.
There are only 10 types of people in this world, those that understand binary and those that don't
Have you tried contact Mytic? They took over EA's MMO products... They are doing additions to UO and I am sure they have access to EnB!
Just an idea

If E&B started back up I would be in utter mental turmoil. My Anti-EA stand vs playing that game I loved so much.
Since EA has control of it I have severe doubts they would revive it. EA lately prefers to just buy up some other company and tack their label on the game they didn't make.
Signed petition tho, I can always worry about subscribing to an EA game if it comes to be.
