GBTW!!!111! (the newest gamer insult)

some of you remember when you first saw the phrase "carebear", or when newbie evolved to noob/n00b/nub

a new dawn of gamer insults is upon us!  GBTW!!!  I have seen this acronym in games like "lineage 2" and "Eve" and even during some random fps multigames I play.

Of course, its not the acronym GBTW that I see being spouted..its the phrase "GO BACK TO WOW!!"

this phrase has seemed to become more insulting then both noob and carebear.  I think we're becoming a bit desensitised to those two insults and being known as a World of Warcraft fanboi has become the highest of insults in almost all games (especially PvP games)

so for those of you that dont remember the evolution of "carebear", or "noob/n00b/nub".. well here is your little momentous event of a new era of popular insults

and if you dont like it...GBTW!! nubs

    sometimes i wonder how many kids are using mommy's credit card?
    and btw what kind of parent would let a YOUNG (5-10 year old) play a p2p game
    that is a ridicoulous way of wasting money
    its understandable if the parent has an acount of their own and leds it to their kid but only the kid?

    i think WoW was a great idea
    all the 1337 uber roxor 13 year olds can go there and let the serious/casual/ mature gamers to more serious games like EVE or EQ or __________(fill in the blank with any other game than WoW)

    but this GBTW ... its perfectly placed perfectly makes sence... cuz no one likes those uber roxor 1337 kids

    P.S. i refuse to play WoW!!!

    Gotta love this particular segment of the gaming community. Its pretty rich coming from ever players "I play a game where I point and click to drive my space ship". Wow players use the keyboard to drive their characters - who has the most skill? :P

    True. Eventhough I have never insulted a person with this phrase yet, whenever I see someone with an inappropriate behaviour or an attitude what immedietly comes to my mind is "Aha, this person must have come from WoW"

    All those abbreviations are getting a tad bit annoying...

    Ok. Maybe it's a bit exaggerated but that's basically what it's about. The joy you felt as a six year old when you and some friends had a secret word that others didn't know.

    Sorry but there were idiots around way before WoW came out. As a matter of fact you can find them in every MMO and FPS that's out there... yes even Eve has a bunch of them, so ESAD noob.

    Besides, how is telling someone to go play the best MMO ever made an insult?

    I still think my favorite insult in my gaming experiance has to be Diablo 2... "You damn Korean!" It was like getting called every profane word in the dictonary all at once.

    My favorite one that I made long ago (Though others would dissagree and say I didn't make it up) just when newbie became noob. I whent one step further and did nublet.

    yes people r getting stupider everyday, devo have dedicated a lifetime exploring this theory, they stand for DEVOLUTION meaning man is regressing backwards which seems to be true after mankind gets to the peak where else to go but back down.

    why are people now talking some bad things about world of warcraft? My father like playing WoW and he is damn good at that game, he been playing almost every class. Anyways, i still don't get this, why are you hating and making fun of World of Warcraft and the players?

    Thats how you make sure the time you invested into a game is worth it.  You tell other people dedicated to the game to go to another game.
