Yeah there have been a few posts about it.. TO be honest though I would probably delete what yopu posted... MMORPG doesnt like us really discussing it (and dont get me wrong they have been really cool about it, but for there reasons its a nono here)...

Here is their position....They have been really cool about letting us discuss what we have....For a while it was ok to talk as long as no links were placed into the forum.. I think its been tightened a little bit more.. The part I quoted btw was from Dekron... I sent him a PM a while back asking questions about this topic, and this was his reply...
"I am well aware of the case you are speaking of, however, it is against our site rules and mmorpg.com does not support posting of free server information. I do not create the rules, I only enforce them. The post was locked with a warning in the thread. Your account, nor anyone else's, received an account warning.
It falls under the category of "illegal activities" because it is linked to software piracy in the sense that server code is being emulated w/o the express permission of SOE.
Hope this clears things up.

MMORPG cannot enforce delicate rules, since they can't judge where something belongs.
Generally:
- No links of any kind
- No direct references either developers or projects in particular
- No SOE vs. indie project comparisons or relations
This isn't as much about policies, as it's about common sense. Obey these rules, and you're fine.

their forum site is a mess, I couldn't find a main sticky thread with directions on how to go about testing it, so I just asked.
I bet I'm gonna get a teenager punk answer me with some idiotic reply along the lines sof "read the FAQ! Don't ask questions that normal people would! Only smart-assed dickheads allowed to post here! SQUELCHED! LMFAO!! L00Z3RRRR"

Yeah, you won't get anything positive most likely, some guy got "squelched" for asking aother to reduce his signature size to help keep the forum readable.

Well, at least they are consistent.
There's instructions in forums, you just need to dig through a bit, and information is floating around about free servers.
This is the first problem of emus that end users experience. Getting it set up. Not just the server, even just the client. Now, the emu team took a huge legal gamble I'm not sure they're even aware off, but it might have doomed their project already. Despite that, they managed to launch and even get people working on it.
Don't expect much help though from the community. Remember, you're not dealing with leet doodz here. It's coders. They are like leet doodz with brains. Severe lack of social skills though.
But in all honesty, unless you're coder or a sysadmin, I wouldn't bother at this point.
How hard can it be to at least make a sticky with links to the relevant threads for those who want to try it?

You know what's funny? The guy who answered me had already assembled a guide link list, and yet, he told me to search for it instead of just giving me the stupid link..... lol

Well this doesnt really apply to Obriak since hes a strong nge supporter from what I read, but the rest are probably either trying to or are playing on the party test servesrs, they will never admit they were wrong. lol.

Thats exactly what is wrong. People come to the forums and post without reading the FAQ (read or ban) and say things like "okai, server set up.. how do i give myself glowstick and djm??!!!11lolzors".
I also acknowledge that we do have two bad mods, Solen being the worse of them. He locks/3-day ban threads without reading the entire first post in the thread, among many other things. The other one, Audune, is getting much better. But I think Solen has taken over most of his flame and ban responsibilities.
Anyways, I just want to tell u guys that you are doing a good job and I believe in you, but that doesn't give you the right to be snobby and rude in the way you handle people, that's all. If people ask for directions just give them a hand, if you can't, let someone else pick it up if they can.
