Another Asian based MMO, most people criticising it seem to have not bothered getting far into the game at all and more people are defending it than I would expect if this was another dissapointment in this field.

So, what Im looking for is an unbiased review of the game from someone who knows what they are talking about

No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

I played off and on for about a month, but it felt forced.  Don't take that as negative, but for my gaming style, I never felt the want or need to log on and do anything.  Its a game that you either put in some seriious time and dedication, or its not really that impressive.

The draw for me was the martial arts aspect of this but with the standard MMO interface/combat system the only martial art influences I could notice were skill names and weapons.  This was not the Martiala rts game I was hoping for.

Take from this what you will, its just my thoughts on the game.

Personally i find it fascinating. The only thing that gets me is that everyone pretty much looks the same. Im sure they'll fix that over time though. Overall it owns you.

this game can be pretty fun, but if you expecting a next generation graphics or revolutionary gameplay, this is not what you are looking for. this game is free to play and the client is free to download as well. it has a pretty good customer support, but the game still lacks some polish. with some updating it can be very fun, but don't expect a WOW killer or GW killer.

I don't know if I can be completely UNBIASED about it... considering all my posts revolve around defending the game from needlessly hostile users...

But my initial impression of the game is...

I'm pretty impressed, at least on a personal level. I am a fan of martial arts, so to see a game implement that concept was immediately a beacon of hope for me. But I suppose that opinion in and of itself is biased... *sigh*

Alright. I guess I'll just lay out the facts then.

There are 4 characters to choose from at the start, 2 male, 2 female, each with their own style of weaponry. That right there is an example of various martial arts implemented into the game. Beyond that, there isn't much of characterization. No faces to choose from, etc etc. Although there have been rumors of a different way to customize your characters, so that's still to be determined.

The leveling system is unique in that it utilizes the ranking of martial arts. Kyu/Dan is how a lot of martial arts are ranked (Dan being essentially a black belt), so that's a unique but simple system of the game.

In terms of learning curve, it's a bit harsh at first because there is no tutorial available. So you're kinda left to fend for yourself. But if you've played any mmorpg at all, finding the basics shouldn't be too hard. The game isn't all TOO complicated. Plus, the hotkey guide by pressing "h" is a big help. That oughta keep you on your feet for a while.

    Yeah...

The pet system is also quite extensive. Any class can have a pet, but the hunter class can only tame them... There are also various types of pets. Mounts are those you ride around while combat pets are those you can use for battle. Each class has their own mounts while pets can range from wolves to bears. There is much to do with this system.

The assassin class is best used for PvP while the warrior class is best for PvE (to my observation). The hunter class is good for making money while the physician class remains a mystery to me (not many are physicians. But i'm sure with the proper effort, they amount to something. I think they deal with status effects later on).

There also exists a bounty system where you place a bounty on a user. While I haven't seen much of that system used, it shows promise for later on after the game releases.

Another topic of question is the master/disciple option. It shows in the hotkey guide, but there hasn't been any explanation about it. So I'm also assuming that it'll be implemented later on.

Overall, there is still much to do, but the game shows promise.
