While going over the mining guide I ran into this section (in the beginning):
Any mining techniques?
Yes, in fact. There is a widely used technique called jetcan mining. The process is quite simple: you mine until your cargo is full, then jettison the ore in a can, and keep filling this jettisoned can until it is full (27450m3) (cargo->can). This saves you the time you would need to travel from the belt to the station every time your cargo is full. Once your can is full, switch to a hauler and haul it all to the station (more details later). Simple as that and very efficient !
There is a risk that an ore thief will show up in your belt and steal your ore. In that case, you will get a 15 minutes timer. This is your window to shoot the thief down without any interference from Concord. You can also gang yourself with corpmates to make it easier to shoot him down.
Is the guide talking about a module that delivers the cargo to the station? A second account that delivers your cargo? Or just leaving it outside while you dock your mining ship and bring out a cargo ship to carry more?

Leaving it outside while you switch ships.
"Memories are meant to fade. They're designed that way for a reason."
It's just talking about that you can create a container by jettisoning the ore you have in the cargo hold. Then use that jettisonded container to store the ore that comes into your cargo hold. Then when it's full or you have few jettisoned containers full you can warp back to the station and get an indy.
Note that this way your ore will always be unsecure and everybody can access it or shoot it down. You do get the option to attack the player for 15 minutes if he steals from your container but he still may be able to get away.
Also jettisoned containers are only guaranteed to stay in space for one hour. After one hour the container can pop at any time and all the ore in it is lost.
I hope this helps.
