Yes, I did read it and still say that the 4M is an artificial number, no where near the comparability of the other's MMOG data. You state that yourself, the adddendum states that. Lineage is twisting it's own data to get to that number by shuffling the deifibition by how they count accounts.
In other words, if I start counting how many people got a direct mail from company X, does not mean that that count is the same number of people that paid structurally for my services.

Let me tell you, Ive played the NA version of Lineage 1 for more then 2 years, so trust me I KNOW alot about this game. Yes it had/has 4million+ subscriberss playing it. NCsoft (The producer/developer) didnt mess with those numbers. I mean, if you mess with numbers you cant just pop up some million. Lineage 1 has I think 40/50 servers in Korea. They also got 10s more servers across other Asian country's like Japan, Taiwan, China, HK. and in some ppl play it as well though it never got big.
Talking about companys messing with numbers. This thread stated many times that EQ boosted there # after handing out free game time, so rahter talk about that. I also think you dont understand how big Lineage 1 (and 2) are in South-Korea. 47% market share in a country where Gaming is the national sport (yes this is true. THey got 3 channels with only gaming 24/7 which shows tournaments, player interviews and more.THEY EVEN GOT A LNN (lineage news network), a 30 minute show all about lineage).
Another thing, South-Korea's most played game is Starcraft (with I believe 5 millioen+ players).
And yet another thing: WHY do you think that the World Cyber Games are held in Seoul (capital of South-Korea)....?
If you got any thing to say about that Lineage 1 didnt had 3/4 million+ users please say so. I'll gladly prove you wrong.
PS: about the thing on the website saying lineage was differnt then other MMORPGs because u dont need to buy a game-bow o.0: Lineage has a special strategy by distributing there game online, and not via game-stores. Why..? Cuz in Korea the ppl are much further in the Internet (i think more then 2/3 has broadband) then they are in NA (Where most ppl still have dial-up). This way they can make theyre game easily downloadable. Also many ppl play(ed) it in Gamecafes, because this is a social place to hang out in Korea. Why play alone at home (like in NA) while you can play it with youre friends in a cool place..? right.
PS2: about saying Lineage 2 will get 7 millions players. Well they will not get 7 mil =P but its going great already. Officially info said that in the 1st five days when the game went live 130K+ ppl bought this game (Lineage II comes in a box), and that was only after 5 freaking days. A normal game takes months to do the same, just imagine the playerbase Lineage II has after a few months now (MMORPGs keep growing for a long time, even longer as the content keep getting updated)
PS3: Richter just accept the fact that Lineage 1 is the biggest MMORPG in the world, and was even bigger before.
Also, see this picture. Ever seen an EQ ad on a cola can..? Dont think so.
Also, look at the financial reports from NCsoft (http://www.ncsoft.net/) and u'll see that this company has crazy amount of many from 1 game. So they made Lineage II, and started to publish other games like City of Heroes, Guild Wars, Exarch and more MMORPGs. U cant buy urself into those games when you have no money. o.0 they even had to publish EQ in Korea, because Sony thought they'd do a better job in it then they.

Cant remember were i read it, might have been on mmorpg but still, if it is true, they may very well be lightyears ahead when it comes to connected user, (a position we swedes had couple of years ago BTW). They are also lightyears behind us when it comes to good taste in games...
Having to play lineage or Biosfear or El-Kardian or Myth os Soma or any of the other big ones would be an insult to most people in europe or US.
Anyhow, anyone else has some numbers on Biosfear, im quite sure i read it somewere "reliable"?

Yes I might be very active posting things about Lineage II (and Lineage I occasionally), that is becausen when I found this board I noticed a huge lack on information here about Lineage II. Because it isnt at the high "HYPE" lvl as WoW/EQ2/UXO I thought it wouldnt do any harm to inform ppl about this game whenever they've got questions or problems. Just look at my posts and you'd have also seen that many of my post are warmly welcomed and informative. I als never made a topic myself. which might show you that Im not just mindlessly posting about Lineage II. Also I always try to be objective for the most part and a little subjective with that. If there are things in Lineage II that dont work well or are wrong I have always admitted that.
So bum37 I dont really see what you are trying to say....
PS: Im also eagerly waiting to try CoH =D I think Cryptic Studios will do a great job.
