Its been about half a year since I last mentioned this game so I think its about time to advertise it lots.

Ragnarok Online 2

Expected release: Q1 2007 in Korea and Japan; english and chinese beta tests expected to start at the same time.

Features:

-Leveling Equipment: The equipment levels with you; and when it reaches certain levels you can upgrade it into other weapons.

-Multiple Races:

  • Norman-  They are able to freely switch between classes.  Then they can use skills from other classes that they learned (with several limitations).  It will also use the old Ragnarok level system that splits class level and character level.  So you can be a level 70 and be a level 1 mage.
  • Ellr-  Truly reminiscent of celtish elves; short, and cute but not HOTT.  They have no class; just skills, and they are focused on using strategy.  Timing is very important.
  • Dimago- Hot Demons.  They also have no classes; just skills that are flashy.

-Yokko Kanno is composing 92 tracks for the game.

-EXP system revamped so its beneficial to kill 1 strong monster w/party, then killing many weak monsters by yourself.

-New anti-hack program developed based on experience the company has already gotten from being targeted by many, many hack programs

-More expressable animated emotions then has ever been attempting in a game; even more then Wiki.

-Upskirting girl sprites (More polies added to that inbetween region)  But be warned some girls wear granny panties.

-Graphics severely upgraded; here are lots of links:

Sounds sweet, 'cept the EXP thing. See, I tend to solo. Ah, well, still looks sweet.

I'm still furious for what Gravity is doing to RO2, as a 2 years RO1 vet.

this game is just a huge slap in the face for all the RO fans. the whole REAL anime lookf RO1 had is thrown out of the window, and replaced with these fake anime look. the great looking character sprites have been removed, and instead, they added characters that look like 11~12 year olds.

they will probably take out all player skill required for solo MVP's. don't let RO 1's point & click system fool you. taking on MVP's by yourself takes a huge amount of skill and time. one bad move and its game over.

    stupid Gravity

Archlord and Aion are my only hope.

RO1 was great for BOTH solo lovers and group players. it was amazing how good that game was designed.

i'm just wondering about the gameplay on skills. is it going to be like RO1, i hope so.

with RO1 skills you press F1 and the skill activate with a circle on your mouse then you click on a target to use that skill on that target, i like how the gameplay is like that. and how there's no cool down, only the time to cast a spell. although there a split second in between how fast each skill is cast. BUT NO COOL DOWN

i hate all these new 3D mmorpg games with gameplay skills. targeting a monster then pressing F1 for skill to activate on that targeted monster. then there's a cool down for like 5 secs OMG i hate it!!!

and for casting magic skill like storm gust, you don't have a to target a monster, u just push F1 (or any Fx whereever you put ur skill at) and target anywhere on the ground with your mouse, and that spell will be cast there. any monster or enamies who steps into that area will be dmged. and be frozen, cuz storm gust freezes (i love it). XD

and then while the monster or enamies are frozen, you quickly push F2 for Jupital Thunder, your mouse goes into a circle ofcourse, then click on your target and boom less then 0.5 sec, your target is toast with about x2 dmg (5000+) cuz when they are frozen their properties becomes ice, and ice are weak to lightning. WOOOHOO i'm so good. please say RO2 skill gameplay is still the same or somewhat close to RO1!!!!!!

any info on how the skill gameplay is on RO2??

gravity RO have the best gameplay by far any mmorpg i've played

"notice i say gameplay n not graphic, dun argue with me" :p

Ragnarok Online was actually my very first MMORPG, and got me hooked on online gaming. It was a really fun game, great for beginners, but back then it lacked any kind of depth. I never did go back to RO to try out the extended class trees and tons of other great things they've added to the game since release, so I'm not sure I can comment on the game in its current form. Still, I have a special kind of sympathy for RO, the kind of nostalgia you feel for your first girlfriend, so I admitedly was quite hyped when I heard Gravity was developing an RO2. Was, because that was like 6 months ago. Now they're announcing that it will be released in Asia by Q1 2007? Knowing Gravity, that means the western world won't see the game for another year if not more. By that time, I don't think anyone will care anymore. Me? I'll probably be busy with Warhammer Online. The folks at Gravity need to realize that they have competition, and that the world isn't standing still for them. Just my thoughts, woteva. Cheers.

No, RO2 won't be like the old RO 1. RO2 will use the usual click and then use a spell thing all 3D MMO's use.

Everyone ought to quit complaining about a RO is 3D and will use so and so.
I think this game should be worth trying. I saw the Clips and it looks pretty good. And everyones on bout awww another Korean 3D MMORPG it will be worthless but remember Gravity are good at creating MMO's i likes ROSE Online that was fun. Me Jamie Phlim2 Tom Jack Jake all played it together we all enjoyed it.
But once again im the ONLY GIRL that played with them.
Give RO2 a try it should have a 7day Free Trial atleast right?? And also BETA Test! >.<

Ok, well, your info says you're a 14 year old dude, so... Yeah... I do agree with the main point of your post, though.

Ragnarok was good back in the day, but even with its new addition it looks like a game that is behind the times. I am not sure how this game will fare against whats planned for release in 2007. Games like heros journey, warhammer, and much more over the hill, even some free games look more advanced then RO2.

I gues only the beta will tell what this game will hold.

I can't wait for the free servers because i'm certainly not going to pay for this when it takes that long to kill one enemy. And the first monster ever in the game you will be killing at that.

I might get into it if Rag2 had something like a players market which has supply and demand, you actually have to craft armour not just give the npc money. And also 1 thing that is lacked by many MMOs, DONT MAKE AIs DUMB SHITS. ESPECIALLY BOSES.  Ive seen people cast tons of AoE skills at 1 spot and watch monsters run into it. Also make it so that theres a RP part to the game and theres quests that actually give you a suitable amount of EXP.

I really wish there wasn't a monthly fee on this game.  Yoko Kanno is one of my favorite composers!! DAMN!!
This pisses me off, haha..  Game looks fun though.. I'm just too poor to play this kind of thing.

Ohh you have read up on it.

I found an interview with 4gamer lately that adds onto that info:

-FPS Style combat in PVP to make it more skill based.

-There is an interactive quest system, the crab in the new trailer is a monster related to one of the new quests.  Notice how in the trailers there are the close-ups on NPCs.  Its suppose to give a more personal feel when your talking to them.

-There was also alot of garbled stuff, but thats what I can make out from the babelfish translation.  I think they also said they are concentrating more on the Global Market then just a game for Korea.
