If you travelled back in time 100 years what EXACTLY would you do?

Imagine this scenario:

It's July 18th 1906 and you have all the skills and knowledge that you have now, but you don't have any money and are homeless. What would you do? I don't want answers like "Become rich and famous" Rich how? Famous how? You are also stuck in 1906.

Me I would become a doctor, with my present day knowledge of first aid now saving lives. Shouldn't take long demonstrating to another surgeon to buy a home so I no longer live on the street. Perhaps I'd also set up a chain of surgeries training others with these 'new' techniques.

I'd probably die alone in the streets from some disease to which no cure currently existed. I mean, no skills to speak of. Plus, things were too up-tight back then. Maybe I'd become a prospector... I mean, I've no idea when Alaska's Gold Rush was, but... Well, there was nothing else here back then, so it's either that or become food for the wildlife. That, or I'd start a restaurant, but only if I were somewhere else. If I had a restaurant back here back then, I'd end up having to be around fish too much.

I would try to invent electric guitars & amps, then move on to creating Jazz & Speed Metal.
after becoming rich & famous I would run for president & leagalize weed, & send all the world leaders a free sack.

if i was able to go back 100 years in the past, i'd live my life normally.

Well, back in 1906, I'd try to find the best way to strike it rich on oil.

be it texas or the middle east.

If I could go back 100 years I'd become a world leader for that fat sack.

As long as I've been a bio major, I don't think I'd be able to do much of anything in 1906. And even though I spend all this time around technology, I don't know how any of it works. Most likely I'd end up in a factory, get fired and starve to death.

I'd probably go crazy long before that. Not only can I not listen to my favorite music whenever I want, but the people who made it wouldn't have even been born yet.

Spend a whole lot of time helping people in San Fransisco with whatever knowledge I could. 4 months later those people were still in a world of hurt.

"What is it I have against Microsoft, you ask? Well, you know how you feel when you wait for an MMO to come out and when it does you feel like you've paid to play it's beta test for another 6-9 months before anything even thinks of working the way it should? Being a network engineer you feel that way about anything Microsoft puts out."

Find a large rock, and some coal. Draw a computer screen on it, and pretend i play games : (
Joke aside, well.. I can contribute little to the world ano 1906, as i know nearly nothing about mordern day technology. But, well.. I'd probaly go treasure hunting, looking for some of the treasures which are discovered today.

I'd predict the future and charge people money for it.

In America I have bad teeth. If I lived in England my teeth would be perfect.

I probably wouldn't change a thing.  By trying to fix things, maybe something even worse would happen.

I would have invented penicillin and insulin and made a furtune then built a plane that made the spruce goose look like a ultra-light lol.

I would start screaming babbling about Germany just about to try to take over the world in 1914 and also in 1939...I would ramble endlessly about some evil things to come, all these I can remember (formation in history)...yet I would prolly be put into some hospital until too many stuff happen and then, I would died a laboratory rat death.

It would seriously drive me crazy, would have to tell peoples...say that they must adapt prior the catastrophic thingy happen...hmmm, I am happy I ain't sent there.

Like britoca I would be afraid to interfere in events, but for personal reasons too.

The idea of living in a world which I know just isn't right for some reason, maybe something subtle or maybe something really big, but I would probably end up in a mental institution raving about how such and such should never have happened like that etc.

Well, if the right person was sent back, wars could be ended faster and lives saved, diplomatic solutions could be reached witht he knowledge we have now, somebody could attempt to Assassinate Hitler or something of the like (although someone else probably would have risen to his spot).

Unfortunately, I'm probably not that person. I would probably attempt to make some basic small technological advancements (I.E. Lighters, Clicking pens, velcro, stuff that would make life easier but not change the world too much.)

If WWI could have been prevented, there would be no need to assassinate Hitler, since he probably never would have risen to the political height he reached. Who knows, he probably would have become an artist after all, since it was the outcome of WWI that caused much of his anger towards racial groups and othe countries. Isn't that kinda strange, if only his professors and teachers would have liked his artwork, WWII and the holocaust probably never would have happened. There probably woulnd't have been anyone else capable of taking the Nazi party as far as he did.

place huge bets on sports events I know the outcomes to and become insanely rich because of it. (it would probably have to be more like 20 years into the past but what the heck it seems like a good idea)

Some of you should have grandparents that were born in 1906, I have 3 grandparents that were born between 1909 and 1912.  Just ask them what they did, most likely you would do something similar.

I'd hunt down Henry Ford and "convince" him that his wife's electric car is not impractical and that the internal combustion engine is a joke.  If he refuses to abandon fossil fuel... then I would kill him.  He'd have any choice of color casket, so long as it was black.
