"shinies and trinkets to rule them all" FTW. Lol for the quantity of extras in that box I see they actual sells are way lower than expected with the NGE.
BTW, it suxx. Who wants to bet if AT-RT shoots or not? XD
I see they chaged the wording from 'original' game to 'base' game. All in all looks like typical SoE spin, espically with that walker to try and suck all the current players into buying it.

I always wonder that by using the word "Complete" does this mean we should not expect the game to expand beyond this? I wouldn't assume so, but typically "complete" means final, wrapped up, absolute, ect...
Actually, they should have called it "Star Wars Galaxies: Dealing in Absolute"
"subscribers will automatically receive a series of game updates that are scheduled to be released by LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment throughout 2006, filled with new content, features and gameplay enhancements." Someone needs to tell them they haven't released squat this year.
"both accessible and immersive" Yes it is easy as pie in some ways, such as having a tow rope drag you through the game.
"Heroic adventurers can seek their fortune in space or on the ground as a Bounty Hunter, Smuggler, Jedi or a host of other unique Star Wars professions." Poor smugglers have been stripped of everything unique since forever. What other professions? There sure isn't any "host"!. The poor remaining profs are in fact waiting for the CH/Ranger/BE axe to fall.
Once I get my new computer I am tempted to get a station pass to play all of their games...including SWG. I don't have ToOW yet, so that package deal is tempting.
Gotta wait for the new computer though, EQ2 doesn't play well on my current one.
There are other folks that will buy it too. New pc or lap top. If changing out a hard drive because it goes boom. So they get this thinking it will save them hours of download times
Nancy MacIntyre, vice-president of global sales and marketing for LucasArts. "LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment have been working hard over the past year to continue to improve and update the Star Wars Galaxies gameplay, for an experience that is both accessible and immersive, and Star Wars Galaxies: The Complete Online Adventures is the sum total of that effort."
Ms Peter Principle herself. Of hourse her accessible and immersive new game has lost half it's subscribers.
As for the rest of us, we expect to be playing pre-CU again before this mess comes out, whether SOE offers it or not

haxxjoo is speaking in the lingo of the "target audience". These are the folks LA and SOE want to hear from regarding how exciting and iconic the game is. So I think haxxjoo's e-mail will be seen as a sign of successfully reaching said audience....Its not what he says, its that he took the time to say anything.

yeah it means the series of expansions is complete the same way "total experience" includes everything available...
wish they'd just let current subscribers buy these exclusive vehicles seperate from the additional account they have to activate...so we don't have to buy it from those who actually do activate the additional account just to sell the vehicle...
god knows way more than half of the people who buy the pack are just current subscribers looking to get the exclusive in game item...artificially inflating the numbers of people actually subscribed to the game...
I'd bet money that they release subscriber numbers about a month after the release of this pack to show their subscribers have increased with the release of the pack...even though more than half of the "new subscribers" will not renew their accounts because they belong to people who already have accounts and just wanted the vehicle...

I really don't see how she manages to keep such a high job position, she has made some rather poor press release speeches on behalf of LAE.
People seem to be holding out for the emulator... but they are forgetting things:
1) Judging from other games emulator servers (UO springs to mind), there will be 1000 servers to choose from, but each with only about 50 players, because everyday folks just don't have the hardware capability / server farms that MMORPG companies have.
2) SOE WILL take legal action against the people developing the emulator.
3) There will be limits as to what they can emulate, not having the source code available. Yes you can log into a server at the moment, but I can't see the software / limited hardware coping with the 1000s of things going on at once (NPCs, player tracking, etc).
4) The software will have more bugs than the current SWG, plus all the flaws of Pre-cu. Everyone seems to look back at the pre-cu as if it was amazing. I seem to remember the forums full of people complaining like you get now.

Star Wars Galaxies is one of the longest-running and most popular ( it's not even in the top 5 MMO's anymore, and I doubt it's even in the Top 10... EVE beats it in subs...)online experiences, bringing gamers of all ages and skill levels together in the ultimate Star Wars journey. Jump into exciting adventures that lead you to legendary Star Wars locations including Jabba's Palace and the infamous Mos Eisley Cantina (That looks exactly like any other Cantina, and has nothing special about it, besides the 20 AFK bots that WEREN'T in the movies). Begin aboard the Millennium Falcon helping Han Solo and Chewbacca fend off the notorious Jabba the Hutt. Along the way, join with Star Wars characters on missions that span across the galaxy. Ally with the Rebels to fight against the Galactic Empire, or join forces with the Dark Side (There is not Dark or Light Side in the game) and crush the Rebel scum. Heroic adventurers can seek their fortune in space or on the ground as a Bounty Hunter, Smuggler, Jedi or a host (What in the HECK is a host? 6?) of other unique Star Wars professions.
Throughout 2006 and into 2007 LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment are scheduled to add a host of new content and features to Star Wars Galaxies through a series of downloadable adventures. Featuring such high-value enhancements as PvP upgrades (LOL, A La WoW), a character profession expertise system (that doesn't exist yet, and won't be finished for a YEAR), new high-level quest series, and epic, server-wide events(that so far have all FAILED, unless another word for unbareable lag is "epic"), these downloadable adventures provide players new content to explore and new ways to influence the entire Galaxy.
Sorry Fanbois, but at the rate this game is going it won't be around for 2007...
I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!

Sad thing is loads of people that still play the NGE will buy this pack just for that ingame vechile.
Actually, they should have called it "Star Wars Galaxies: Dealing in Absolute"

Damn it, another pack I have to buy :P. Always wanted the concept art book from the Collectors Edition
Notice how they also say during 2006 AND 2007?

In fact, forget the SWG!!!!
Loads = 10k - 30k... THAT's the sad part...
This pack is only an effort to make a bit more cash wothout having to develop anything for a game they have no plans for...
