I was checkin this game on their website and it says "Character development and advancement through ranks." Does that mean you get upgrades with your armor and weapons and can upgrade your character and stuff? Or is just basiacally like one big Unreal Tournament kinda game but MMO?

Awsome im about to download it now and try the 7 day free trial. Anyone know if a lot of people play this game?

Cool, thanks for all the info. I just got 1 more question though.....after my 7 day free trial is up can i still use what i downloaded to play or will i have to go to the store and purchase the game and the expansion?

You can use what you downloaded but if you wish to play with the expansion you will need to purchase the expansion atleast. The 7 Day trial download is over 1GB. You can even continue to use the character from the trial... all you need to do is make sure your paying, LOL.

Do what I did. Download and get the 7 day free trial. Enjoy the game and have fun. Then sign up for the 30 day free trial. I believe it is over at gamespot. Play it and enjoy. Then cancel subscription before 30 days is up and realize it is stupid to pay for a FPS and wait for the next tribes to come out.

well,you can practically play for endless time,cuz you can make that trials again and again on http://www.fileplanet.com/betas/verify.aspx?b=1024&u=http://www.fileplanet.com/betas/planetside_trial.aspx

and 7-days are enough to make a good char to play with,cuz the most importatnt thing is your aim...

Im pretty sure you need to use your CC for the 7 day trial. So after 7 days you would need a new CD-Key to create the account, meaning you would need another FilePlanet account, Plus you would need another CC to use for the account. This also will make you start from the beginning with a new character... so in other words all the trouble to not be playing the game (since the game is designed about developing 1 character).

just download planetside,make account and play one week,when your trial expires just click on my link,get that new cd key and paste it to the new subscription and you can play another week

Planetside, now thats an interesting topic.

Here is the deal.

At this point, planetside is more about the community or lack there of. You see the game is Deja 'Vu all over again and again. If you don't like pointless level treadmills, you will not like pointless meaningless battles.

1. PS uses a CoF system, not PP. what does that mean ? well no hit by location. just aim and shoot and if you hit them in the foot or head it makes no difference.

2. PS large battles can be very exciting, with the right amount of ram and a good video card. If you don't have good stuff, expect a slide show

3. Core Combat is not worth the money and some say free would be too much to charge.

4. with the merge of the various servers ( two east merged, two west merged). the community, which used to be the games strong point, is now in rapid decline.

yay its not the best at the bengining but once u get ur lincense to some armour weapons and vechiles its real fun. i think its even worth paying for after playing games like wish and FFXI plus u dont have to be high lvl to be good. lol when i had a trail i didnt even have lvl 3 weapons and i killed some guy in a walker lol. its real fun 2 cant see gettting bored of it. but it does suck if ur not in a guild : /. quit a few people play it, i think about 2K per server pretty fun. but if u dont like FPS dont get. i myself loved it but im dont have that kinda money to buy lol im only 14

Played the hell out of the BETA, which is why I didn't buy it since I tried all the weps and MAX's. Game does get repetetive, but what mmorpg doesn't. People have been playing same CS maps for years so basically if you are a fan of fps you'll probly like the massivness of the battles in PS. Personally I would play Battlefield 1942 and not P2P for fps.

It's better be hated for who you are, than loved for who you aren't.
