Yes, I know it would never happen. But let's pretend that it did. Let's pretend on this thread for a moment that next week you log into this site and the newest news article and hottest talk was about how Blizzard purchased the rights to the Mourning/Age of Mourning/Thrones of Chaos code and was planning on a release in the coming months? Just imagine the irony of the biggest, most successful mmo company today buying the rights to the most ridiculed and crappiest, worst reputation game on the market!!
.... What if they left this company called "LoudAnt" as the dev team and left several Romanian coders from the original "Mourning" game intact?
- How many people would suddenly "LOVE" this game?
- How successful would it be even if it was kindof a crappy, bug infested game just because of the name "Blizzard" on the box??
- Would you change your opinion about Blizzard if this happened?
- Would Blizzard suddenly somehow jeapordize their name and become the butt of thousands of jokes across gaming forums everywhere??

Just curious on what some of the responses and thoughts are on IF this did happen. Hehe. it would DEFINATELY be a shocker that would probably make many crap or almost crap their pants... that's for sure!!

LOL, it's just for fun bro. I sometimes buy a Powerball quickpick lottery ticket just so I can sit around and BS with my family and friends about how I'll spend my 300 million when I win it, hehe. The fun of dreaming about that is well worth the dollar I spent for the insanely small chance I have of actually winning.

Hmm, on the same token as this statement - Isn't it also pointless to play a game and pretend that you are some almighty warrior that can shoot blasts of fire and ice and slay huge, evil demonic beasts in a huge fantasy world? That could never really happen, so why play such a fantasy-like game?

I don't know about you, but i rarely pretend i'm my character. I pretend, my character is the almigthy warrior that can shoot fireballs from his arse, and slay huge, evil demonic beasts in a not-so-huge fantasy world.
Well typically when an MMO sells out to another larger company; the community is usually like OMG the game is going to be commercialized and suck. They are just in it for the profit and won't listen to thier customers. And stuff like that. But I believe that it would be a good thing if this company was bought out by another. Even another trainwreck company like NPcubed or a start up company like the Planeshift team, it would be a gigantic leap forward in PR.
What would be funny is if Vivendi bought the rights just so they can permanently shut the lid on the company.

... Man I was drinkin' a little last night and trying to have a little fun conversation. Ya know, what would happen IF the biggest, baddest, most respected company bought the game from the smallest, crappiest, least respected company... crap like that. And about all I get is constant flames directed at me for it.
I swear I'm dealing with a bunch of "way-too-serious" non-laughing, stick-up-the-ass goobers who think that what's posted on these here forums absolutely has to be 100% serious, nothing but direct linked to proof gawd damn facts here at all times. I mean seriously now... do some of you people know how to lighten the hell up just a little on these forums 'cuz I am by no means serious on these forums about 60% of the time. Try to have a sense of humor and lighten up a little for crying out loud guys. Everything thats posted on these forums is not life or friggin' death. Damn.
Now go tickle your kid, neice, nephew, girlfriend, or someone and try to crack a smile. I promise it won't kill some of you!

...Just because I say that World of Warcraft is not such an almighty game that it warrants 7 million players paying every month doesn't mean that I am slinging mud at Blizzard bro. The game is not as good as most fanbois here act like as they point at the sub numbers is my only only even half way close to mud slung at Blizzard. But even then.. that isn't mud slung at Blizzard. I have nothing but respect and admiration for what Blizzard does and they are a insanely fine game company. Come on though.. you have to admit that "World of Warcraft" is just a tincy bit over-rated with 7 million damn active accounts.
