bluehat - Yes. Age of Conan is looking really sweet too. . . though I'm sure G&H and AoC will be different in more ways than just their ESRB rating, you are correct in pointing out this difference.
I can certainly see where you might draw that conclusion, although with as little information you have, drawing such a negative conclusion might indicate that you have an alterior motive?
Maybe you really are stoked about Age of Conan and think that by slamming Gods and Heroes: Rome Rising that you'll make Age of Conan look more appealing? Of course, I'm just guessing - but then again, isn't that what you're doing? Just guessing?
If you're using logic, you could also apply that same logic to Rome: Total War. Since it allows you to control many more characters than Gods and Heroes: Rome Rising, then Gods and Heroes: Rome Rising must be just a "lite" version of Rome: Total War, Right? Of course not.
The previous poster said it in WAY fewer words: You're comparing apples to oranges, friend.

negative conclusion?
On the contrary, Gods and Heroes might be a decent game to follow in the footsteps of a true MMORPG such as AoC. GnH should be proud to copy such as game as AoC, even if they only copy their footsteps as in a PG kiddy version. Everyone knows the downfall of a mostly instanced game such as GnH.
In GnH, there is no crafting, maximum group size is 5 people, lots of instancing.
They say they may add crafting later on. However, WoW said they would have player housing (going on 3 years now). If it is not implemented from the start, then you can pretty much count on it not happening, very low priority, and that it will not be an important part of the experience.
Compare this to AoC. Crafting skills available in Conan

Do some research and THEN make that statement. Lots of instancing?? Incorrect again sir. You seem to be an ostrich with your head stuck in the sand and not willing to listen to any sort of reason. I wouldn't play another MMO again that doesn't have some minimal instancing. Why you ask? Anyone remember the Bazaar in EQ? EC tunnels? Too many times you get enough people in a zone and it's lag city. Instancing allows and facilitates better server management in high traffic areas. So, do some research. Learn some IT. Then come spout that crap.
To state that just because WoW didn't follow through with their promises doesn't mean P.E. and GnH will not follow through with theirs. Every MMO will do business the way they see fit. And until P.E. proves themselves otherwise, who are we to not give them the benefit of the doubt and not believe if the majority of the community wants crafting, they will impliment a crafting system that will accentuate the game. Not just thrown in for the sake of having it.
Yeah, maximum PC is 5. Added in with minions and it can reach 45 characters there. That not enough for you? Would you prefer 10, 100, 1000? It's a number for a party, what does it really matter?
Wrapping up, if you're such an AoC fan, head over to their forums, and be happy and content, because we don't need ya here spewing rhetoric without any factual basis.
mostly instanced? are you on crack? where have you been for the last however long!
the game is only 25% instanced for the specific quest related things like fighting a hydra to prevent kill stealing and the whatnot.... also i think the colliseum is instanced!
G&H will be a great game you cant say its following the footsteps of any kind of mmo this one is original and it has a nice roman fantasy theme it's creative and just about evrything about it looks preety great, it looks preety far from done and we have much more info about AoC they look like verry different games do some research pleaz. actually wen you look at it through a "themes" point of view it looks like AoC is copying G&H with their whole Romanish war country game. yay.
Well bluehat, I'm glad you at least took the time to check out Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising before you made your assessment. I hope that after we go live that you will at least come by and check out what we've done. For everyone else, don't let it get to you, the MMO community is as vast as the ocean itself. We understand that Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising isn't for everyone, and that's okay.

My best advice?
Don't feed the trolls.
Age of Conan will have the best loot from PVE raids, so it sounds to me like AoC is just a lite version of WOW.
