Great stuff I remeber yesterday they mentioned they were getting positive emails from Devs of other games just amazed about a Televised PVP Tournament!
Originally posted by Haruto I have yet to watch this, but have been wondering... Do you have to watch it live or are the previous episodes available for download?
I'm pretty sure that once the tourney is over, they'll release the videos in the respective eve-forum section. I even heard of ideas about a DVD.
I'd like to see someone watch the tourney and then come on here and try and tell everyone how the combat in the game is just 'orbit, hit F1-F* and wait'
There's been a HUGE variety of tactics shown even in the first round. Some work some don't but it's been fun to watch IMO.

tourney is not yet over, it will resume with the final matches this friday-sunday. and to haruto, while I don't know if there are any official videos out, many people did record some fights, if you look through the eve-o video, events, general discussion forums you can probably find some of them.
Please note these tournys are broadcast LIVE during Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The broadcast times are GMT. If I'm not mistaken (cannot access eve's site atm) they are between 2pm-10pm GMT.
They are not availble for download atm although we all hope they will be soon.
I missed Friday and Saturday's events although watched a nice presentation of it on Sunday.
Very impressive!! Never had I thought I would be able to watch something like this. I mean, I was actually glued to the TV with plenty of beer on hand!!
We have been stunned at just how popular EVE TV has been, Basically we had over 5 time the number of viewers that we expected even our most optimistic predictions. Major Kudos to our bandwidth suppliers who contantly made new servers available to keep up with demand.
We are currently encoding the broadcast in a high bandwidth version for even clearer and sexier EVE experiance. I will post links here as soon as they are ready for download.
Thanks to everyone for watching, and the best is yet to come!
Make sure you tune in to EVE TV for the final 3 days of the tournament, starting at 14:50 GMT on Friday the 21st
you got that right, it pisses me off when ppl are trying to compare eve with freelancer and then say stuff like "ooh but in freelancer you can control ship directly blah blah". been playing eve since the day it came out on and off and i still remember when it was just shuttles, frigates, cruiser and battleship, and a couple of indies the only ships available on the market and even then it had more strategy then FL or any other space combat online game known to me..
Go EVE TV!!!! YEAH!!!! I think that this is grounbreaking work from the EVE radio team and CCP, cudos to them for thier work! I am enjoying it immensely and i am rooting for my allaince to win! Anyone guess who they are? (can you say? h.o.b.b.i.t?)
What people need to remember about the folks who come here with the "orbit f1-f8" rants are that they are almost INVARIABLY from noobs or carebears who ONLY npc hunt. No one who is involved even a LITTLE bit with PVP would come here and say that.
These folks are also the ones who played the trial, did it solo, attempted it with the mindset of the 'grinder-mmo-folks' and quit.
This tournament is an amazing event being able to actually watch listen and partake real time.
I remember when the Amarrian Succession Championships took place, and eve-radio did a play by play. Most of EVE literally 'stopped'. Most of us in my corp at that time wished we could have had live feeds to it. This is good stuff!
Been surprisingly entertaining. If someone told me i'd watch an internet show of a video game I would slapped him but then sadly I did and now I'm addicted.

Kudos is CCP's
Well worth a watch.
I meant to post this but forgot, glad someone did.
It's freaking awesome, some great fights in this tourney, and some very funny setups by others.

Yea eve TV is great some good battles too and its all live!!!
Anyone wanting to see what eve is about especially the PvP then go and watch it.
Anyone got bets on who will win? I'm pretty sure BoB will, but a lot of other Alliances have been putting on a good show... even ISS!
I personally want to see a battle between SA and SE, that'll be fun.

What a great marketing idea!
I bet you Blizzard, Mythic, SoE, etc. are kicking themselves for not thinking of this first.

How long before we see SpiralJunkie in an ad for Walkers' crisps?
Not aware of another game that has done something like this before.
Excellent stuff
