Hello.

Would you recommend this game to someone who uses text chat only?

Are there major portions of the game that are inaccessable to someone who uses text chat only?

    Thats all I do is text, some people like to use voice during castle seiges or just hangout.

    Waiting on Guild Wars 2

    No. As far as I know text chat is even used in a few raids. Ofcourse there will be times when theres a need for voicechat, but you will most likely not be required to speak. Just some raid leader/siege leader who will give out commands to different squads.

    You are most likely in some point required to download
    Vent or Teamspeak so you can listen in for instructions
    , but you are not required to talk.

    I always used chat even know guilds usually have ventrilo or teamspeak but I am too lazy to download .

    Though I've used the voice programs Team Speak and Ventrillo, I found I hated them. Don't want to hear the awful speaking voices with absoltuely awful sound quality.

    Now I just use Text Chat. Hasn't been a problem. However, some guilds do require it (understandably so) so just make sure you are clear to them that you have no interest in using it. They may or may not accept you.

    most clans that require them are cool if you just have the software running so you can hear commands.

    im with you sov, i tend to prefer not to use voice com.  its really depressing once you have to face the reality of the kids you're playing with :)  and thats not sarcasm
