Assuming your not trolling, the answer is no.  I refer you to this

You don't need to start over. I'm sure you can buy a full 90 for about 5% of what you sold your account for 2 years ago.

Or just run a trial and judge for yourself.

just remember the trial isn't the game once you get beyond it.  THe game is the buggy stuff afterward based on the same broken engine.

Depends why your thinking of going back. If you want a game with skill tree character development and a player created economy where crafting was a valued playstyle then no. If you want a bad version of your typical grind, level, loot game then yes.

At least you got some cash for your account while it was worth something, never ever come back to SWG. I hope that SOE/LA has lied to us about not making a Star Wars Galaxies 2, the one lie I wouldn't be pissed about. SWG need to be cremated and  a next generation SWG2 rise from the ashes. I think about that once in a while, a SWG2 made with current top rate tech (and a good content team heh), it would be fantastic!

If they make a new Star Wars MMO it could really do with getting some distance from SWG and using a different name. Try for a blank slate with peoples disatatisfactions and anticipation of what it might be like.

Only if you want to play a game that is no more challenging then Dragon Warrior IV from the old Nintendo.

    Sadly, No.

The game in its current state is a pitiful shadow of what it once was.   Very little of what made this game unique and community driven still remains.   What does remain of the old game has been watered down and simplified, or bugged and changed to the point where its hardly recognizable.   The UI for combat and non-combat is not intuitive, has lost customization options it once had, is generally considered ugly and obtrusive onscreen, and there are many times youll wish you had a third arm during combat, even if you re-map the keys to as close-to-preNGE as you can get.

There are truly so many other changes that have ruined the game in some small way, or bugged it, that I could probably make a wiki source just for undesirable SWG changes since the NGE, and if you been gone since preCU times, then add the CU to that also, as there were plenty of changes in that "upgrade" that are considered by many to have been negative to the overall health of the game.

And you dont have to take my word for it, take a look for yourself, check the boards, the majority of posts related to SWG (both at the official site and sites like this) are negative in one way or another.   SOE has gone far beyond just making bad choices in game design, they've managed to create real feelings of betrayal and hostility in a large portion of its customer base.    And in a market where positive word-of-mouth is essential, the kind of bad joojoo SOE has created for themselves with these changes has taken a huge chunk out of the subscriber base, and its unlikely that it will ever fully recover from the damage done.

It truly saddens me to see what has become of what I once considered the best game I had ever played.    We can only hope that one day SOE will either pull its ego-swollen head out of its arse and offer us preCU style servers, or that a different company will attain the rights to make a completely new SW mmorpg (any era) and finally give us fans a stable and complex player driven galaxy, where you can once again "Experience the greatest Star Wars saga ever told – Yours."

Of course theres always the Turducken, only a matter of time before its done cookin...

You can always try the free trail and see if you enjoy it or not, it will help you in making a decision whether or not to return to the game. Thank you for your time.

All you ever will see in the trial is the NGE station, prob the best part of the NGE IMO, it's downhill after that.

The game as it is now ( World of StarWars =) ) is not worth the fee. Tries to hard to be something it's not.
