WoW time card?

ApharAphar Member Posts: 68
Well i was looking into playing WoW earlier today. My friend plays and he said they have a time card system? I had heard of this before but i never thought of using it. From what i under stand you can go to a local store maybe like Wal-mart or a place that carries games/books/electronics would have them? I know in our local bookstore that has games and stuff has WoW and i think it has a card with it. Anyone elaborate on this or gimmi link to info on the WoW page.

WoW 60 day time card is the same as the 2 month subscribtion. a lot of shops sell WoW game time cards, shouldn't be hard to get.

I think about 30$, you will get 2 months of play time. yes, you can keep using them.

The price for them here in Canada it's $49.95. If you get the monthly Sub the price is about $18.00 per month, so two months would be... $36.00.

There's obviously a premium there for using time cards, maybe more so here in Canada? But certainly worth it for those who may not have a CC as an option.

When I played EQ I kept buying time cards instead of using a credit card, and it is the same for WoW...Considering for only one month of WoW with a credit card is 15$, it does make sense for the 60 day time cards cost 30$. Then you have to consider the cost of profit for each store. So in the end if you buy several months of WoW with a credit card, it would be cheaper then repeatively buying game cards but who cares! It is just like paying one month every month and a couple dollars does't matter considering you have to have a credit card.

    Anyways... Here is the link

That is odd, is there a special (canadian) sales tax on those timecards? (Maybe greedy shop owners?)

No special tax or anything... I'm just an idiot. It's not $49.95, it's actually $39.99. So it actually works out to about the same thing.

Bestbuy link for the Card here (cdn $): http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10055023&catid=21152

It's a little more expensive then a monthly sub but not by much once you count the inflation between American and Canadian dollars.

    /sigh

This is what happens when I hold myself to just one coffee a day.
