Another reason why SOE is loosing more customers??

DarksandDarksand Member Posts: 37

Now this is strange, I wanted to log into my toon on SWG, and it said I was banned, hmm

First of all, im sure i didnt do anything against the rules, i dont even play that much anymore. I didn't have any issues with people in the game, and i didnt post on the forums for atleast 6 months. I never been banned in my entire 2 year+ membership of this game, never had there been any issues between me and SOE, not ingame, not on the boards.

So i searched my emails if they mailed me about why im being banned. nothing. So then i mailed their custommers support, and you never gues what they replyed

Thank you for contacting the Customer Support Department at Sony Online Entertainment, LLC.

This is an automated response that has been generated based on your Account Status inquiry. The information contained in this response should address any issues surrounding why your account may be banned or suspended.

All SOE station accounts that are currently set to banned or suspended status have been reviewed by a support supervisor. Suspension or banishment occurs due to a violation of an SOE policy. The account in question has been found to have violated one or more of our policies and has been deactivated in accordance with our End-User license agreement.

An e-mail has been sent to the address on file notifying the owner of exactly why the account had disciplinary action taken against it. Regretfully, this decision is non-negotiable.

I didnt get any email about this, so i have no clue why they banned me. Also its not negotiable.

Edit: oh, when i watch my Account on the SOE page, it says im banned for EQ2, but i dont even have that, only SWG

anyone any ideas

Anyone else know the password to your account?

Call them up and talk to someone there, or jump on their Live chat to try clear it up :)

The email address would still be the same though, check to see when the last email you recieved from SOE was as it might have been changed by the alledged hacker.

Call them up? Not sure that the customer support that's based in Bombay, India would be much help. Also I didn't know the live chat was working, thought it was still under perma moderation after November.

All in all the same happened to me, I got a 7 day forum suspension that was a perma ban because they're too incompitent. The sad thing is I was banned for asking honest questions about gameplay discussion in the gameplay discussion forum. The even sadder thing is I couldn't be bothered to get the suspension lifted as I'd decided to pack it in already and play another game.

These guys are the most incompetent in the industry, so good luck. However look at the bright side, they already banned you from EQ2 so no need to waste time/money there!

When it says it was an automated responce does it mean it is just a fill in responce untill someone can check it or is that actuelly the only responce your going to get?

If it is the fill in responce and you can get onto a real person to talk to then it's ok but if that is the only responce you'll get to the e-mail or other e-mails about it without you getting onto someone by phone of by chat then that would be even worse then the amazingly low standards I already expect from SoE.

This same thing actually happened to me twice during my 2 and a bit years with an SOE account. Both times I would just try to log on, much like yourself, and receive a banned message. No reason either times, no warning, I never did much other then support the community in game, never trash talked on the forums or anything silly like that.

Both times all I did was call up the support line and talked with a live rep, they quickly found the issue (which was amazing in it's own right) and re-instated my account to active status within minutes, nothing lost except for a couple of dollars worth of long distance and some time.

Now compare that to my EQ2 situation I had (kinda still have) going on.

I started playing EQ2 on release day after having been in the Beta. About 3 months into my one and only character (a lvl 39 warden I think at the time) fell through the steps of Mars Ascent in Nek Forest. After about 3 weeks of emails, in game tickets, and 2 phone calls later I finally received a response, generic type deal, that the issue was being looked at and I would get something back shortly.

Well, long story short, over the next year and about 50 some odd Emails, a dozen calls (about $25.00 worth in LD), more in game tickets then I could count, I was officially told to shove off. It wasn't so much the character herself, I had out-leveled a new Warden quite a while ago, but it was the sheer inneptitude of the CS team and how they treated me.

Still to this day, if I were to log into my EQ2 account, I can still see my poor little wood elf girl warden helplessly floating in the air, unable to be logged into. It's so sad, it's almost comical :).

That is why the moment I start seeing the usual run around from their CS I say "let me speak to your supervisor". That usually gets me to the lead GM and I deal with it from there.

This is why Cs is hit and miss in all games  . I actually had a very similar experience , Yet the outcome was completely opposite. I was playing 3 days after launch ,while walking through a door in queynos . It began to close as I entered and it pushed me inside the wall . Which of course I was swimming in space as a result .

I sent in 1 ticket , explained exactly where I was and how I was put there . I was free about 10 mins after writing the ticket . I was responded to within about 2 mins.

I had a similar result in Star wars galaxies as well . Around launch I was pvping in anchorhead ( I miss those days :( ) Well I was killed and after cloning , I was stuck in the basement . There were no doors in the room at all . /unstick did absolutely nothing . So I sent in a ticket, Within about 3 minutes I was responded to . The CSR asked me a few questions , I answered them . About 10 seconds later I was free.

These are the only two times I have ever had to write in tickets . Both were handled well for me .

Yup, I'll be the first to admit that I dropped the ball on this one, the second I saw that I was being bounced around from one Level 1 CSR to another I should have interjected by demanding to speak to a supervsior. Lesson learened as they say....

To be fair though, I should also say that during my time in EQ2 this was the only "game-stopping" issue I experienced. Well... that is unless you can consider "death from pure boredome" a game stopping issue, then the situation was on-going.

You should be thankful lol. Hey if they dont want to let u play its there loss of 15 bucks a month. I only wish this could happen on a mass scale so we could end this insanity.

Actually yes, that was my first thought too, i have had some periods i canceled for a few months, but just call me an addict, i miss the comunity (not that there is much left of it)

Also, i havent thought about a hacker, im not entirely sure, but to get my account hacked, they need to hack in my pc right? well im 100% sure that didnt happen :) So if there are more options to hack into my account, i would like to know.

Oh and tnx for all the replies, atleast here are people listening :)

It's possible they just guessed your password (or hacked it).  They don't need access to your computer to do that.

Unless he was very obvious with his station name as well it likely they wouldn't have had to guess that too. It is much more likely that it was a mess up on SoE side or that someone he shared the info with miss used it.

Then I'd say it is safe odds it was an internal SoE mess up that has your accoutn baned.

Heres the real question u need to ask yourself why would u stay or want to play with a company that doesnt give a sh%t about u? even if it was hacked u cant get a hold of anyone to help u for one and they got it automated so emails cant really do much? So why would u bother with these people ? This is why i cancelled these people are very greedy they could care less about you or me its like why would u stay with a company like that that summit video says it all u got a person that is making the game he wants not what u or me want. I love star wars to but why would i want to play julios wetdream of turning wow into star wars? I tried it in all fairness its a pile of sh#t and sucks #ss. So u should consider these things u are bieng abused thats for sure i dont think even obraik and pirrg can disagree on that ill admit it may could be a hacker but regardless they way theyve treated u is messed up and just plain wrong.

It'd be so much easier to make the forums only viewable to paying customers, and then just have the place run wild. How many people do they have, patroling 24/7 looking the ban people? Sure, it might make people suspicious, but the forums are going down in flames either way.
