I am looking for a new mmo to start and I'm looking for suggestions. I played SWG for a little over a year and WoW for about 8 months. I know this is VERY limited xp with mmos' but any help would be nice.
If this is a typical Noob post, I am sorry. I am posting between classes and meetings and have not had the chance to explore previous posts.

SWG pre-CU lover? Maybe you want to try Saga of Ryzom (hardcore approach however)?
City of Villains and City of Heroes are better than WoW IMO.

Well, it's tough to say.. What are you most interrested? PvP? PvE? Crafting? Roleplaying? Sandbox-enviroment? Give us some hints.
MMOGs typically are better experiences when you take time to learn their nuances and various options. That being said, taking the time to read about these games will be more benefitial to you in the long run than any suggestion you get in this forum.
Research and review are major parts of getting the most out of the genre. Use those techniques to your advantage in choosing the game too.
In what way are CoH/CoV 100% different than SWG, WoW, and EQ2?
Lets start off:
They're both MMORPGS
They both contain classes, and other standard RPG features
CoH/CoV is superheroes, rest is sci-fi/fantasy.
From what i've tried, CoH and CoV isn't really anything special.

I just really tend to like a more 'mature' debate/discussion, than just random insults that isn't backed up. There isn't many around that loves being insulted, and neither do i - Hence, a report.

Yes, what makes it so special? Oh, you mean i have to get an Ph. D in english grammar to understand CoH/CoV, the game that is so special, that a foreigner can't even be CONFRONTED with what makes it so special!

Thanks for responding to my OP so quickly. You are correct in the fact that I did not give you enough info about what I like.
I enjoy PvE and soloing most of the time. Some crafting is fun, if it leads to better equip/skills. Over-grinding (SWG) is a pain. Sci-fi or Fantasy no real preference there.
I guess I'm looking for something I can enjoy without putting in 30-40 hrs a week ( I work almost 60 now with the commute).

Okay okay.. Well, lets see. You are a 33 year old american. I'm a 17 year old dane. You see, here in Denmark, we are a very very odd view on debates. You know what that is? Well, let me tell you - In a debate, you express your opinion about the subject, not the individual who shares his view on the case. Ofcourse, americans may have a different view on that matter. You indeed said it was special. "COH/COV are so fundamentally different than the standard mmo it doesn't even fall in the same mmo class". Now, unless i'm really that stupid as you say(Anyone care to confirm that?), that essentialy means it's special. Special in that way, that it follows it's own path- And not the standard MMORPG path. I ask again, what makes it special? The only thing i can think off, is the theme.

Every current mmo is either SCi'FI or fantasy(orcs, gobbies, dwarfs etc..) Pirates Of The Burning Sea would be something you may enjoy, realease isn't for a while yet but it doesn't require massive time investes to compete in the game, its a unique gaming experience that has created quite a buzz in the mmo community. Gods and Heroes ( I know it sounds Fantasy) is also another mmo coming soon that has unique gameplay and is based on the Roman era. I'll look for some more but as of now there is nothing else that is any good that comes to mind.
P.S. Don't pay attention the the crazy dude that keeps hijacking this thread hes obviously disturbed lol, you will find peeps like that all over this forum. I'll look up some other games and get back to you, later Wantsumbieer

Uh.. I know there is 10 *something levels* too.
Not to mention, you can level your artifacts too.
Also, some of the best equiment avaible is player made - Though not by 1 tradeskills, but 3. something-craft, spellcrafting, and alchemy.
There is also plenty of races(Hmm, 18 or so?) and about 36 classes, spread across 3 realms.

Wantsumbier didn't make the sentence unreadable - It was understandable what he meant, even for a kid with learning dissabilities(And who probaly do drugs, prays to an holy goat, and loves eating his own excrements), who uses english as a secondary language. And i'm not completely wrong. A learned man *cough*, such as yourself, should be educated enough to understand Wantsumbier's post. So essentialy, you was wrong, i'm right.. Uh.. NUUAAAAAH NUAAAAAH..
