Lack of ways to screw with other players. Seriously. Every other Online game I've played, I have to deal with PKers and Loot Ninjas. Here, they have to work their butt off to do that stuff. And, because it's so hard for them to do it, there's a distinct lack of those kinds of players.

There's also the balanced game play. Every class has a role to fill and a job to do. Every class can do something that no other class can do. Even better, because the game is skill based, the better you are, and the more you work at your character of choice, the better you will become.

Oh, and the graphics are pretty, too.

As an addict of Guild Wars, I believe myself qualified to answer. Mainly because GW is a one-time fee per campaign, and offers amazing graphics and fun. Playing the different classes for me is fun...

Trying out different builds, being ina  guild (which i own) and having friends.. it's one way to fill up a myspace friends list :-. hehe.

It's just fun dude. Addicting, too..

It is not like this at all, I find.  In fact, if you want to go straight into PvP, you can actually create a lvl 20 toon from the start and skip the leveling altogether.  Not that you should have to.  The leveling is actually quite fun and there is enough to do throughout the game to keep the grind at a minimum.

It is loads of fun in that respects.

GW is really fun ive had 147 hrs right now on 22 days ;). The Pvp part is one of the best PvP systems ive ever seen in any MMORPG. There is little to NO grind in this game lvling up is really fast (expessaly in Factions). Ive found the rp part really fun an u can travel to the PvP isles an PvP. Ive played more on my rp chars thne my PvP 42 hrs across my PvP chars an 102 hrs on Rp. Its worth a shot.

Whenever i step outside, somebody claims to see the light
It seems to me that all of us have lost our patience.
    'cause everyone thinks they're right,
And nobody thinks that there just might
Be more than one road to our final destination--

    It's just excellent FUN.

They've replaced grind with, well...with doing your own thing. Once you hit lvl 20 you can...

    1. Stop playing (just as if it was a one-off single player type game)
    2. PvP (in various forms)
    3. Explore
    4. Gain titles
    5. Do high level PvE (like Tombs, UW, FoW, explorable areas)
    6. Collect materials and money for Elite Armor sets
    7. Collect character skills for your class (both Elite, by capture, and normal through trainers)
    8. Roll a new character (and repeat the above for it)

Whatever you choose it is, almost invariably, fun!

yeah! GW is really fun and has nice graphics and it's affordable to everyone coz all you have to buy is the cd key and create an account on it, no monthly fees at all - you can play whenever you want to. =)

GW is a very fun game.  The lack of a monthly fee makes it even better.  The nicest thing about it is the fact that you can hop on for a few minutes and actually accomplish something.  I play it off and on all the time though I'm not hard core about it by any means.  It's just a fun little game.  It doesn't have all the features of a mainstream MMORPG but it has enough of them to give you the feel of one without the hassle.

I love GW because it is different from any other online games!

It is RPG with SKILLS for once! And it is fast, and engageing. Not slow and monotunous like most MMORPG's tend to be.

    The possitive NO's

    No Spawn Camping

    No level grind

    No Gankers

    No monthly fee

No super l33t ubber armor only obtainable by super 24/7 grinders

    The Yes'es

can play as casually as you want as there are no monthly subscriptions, so you can play two MMO's at the same time, when your monthy one begins to annoy you take a break in Guild Wars.

Can roam with NPC's and just wander the land scape and look around, the NPC are quite good, and take commands once you work out how they aggro.

    Its so pretty.

Its actually fun to take another character class back threw the entire story campagn

The PvP is fair and balanced and as perfect as you can get in a game, if your team looses its because somebody on your team made the wrong choice or you were just out played

The PvP in this game, although quite stategic, is horribly repetitive. I could fall asleep on the keyboard waiting to finish a PvP game.

Pros IMO: Refined gameplay makes it so much easier to play and have fun, graphics are good, weapon drops are dynamic with random stats, good pvp systems, ample bank/inv slots, no grinding

Cons IMO: 4 charaters slots (6 with expansion but for someone who already has 4 full slots, 2 additional isn't much to brag about), level way too quick, level cap of 20, small pve part of a pvp game, armor isn't dynamic with flat stats, finding groups (or good groups) in later level missions can be a chore

I'd pay a monthly fee if GW had more PVE content or depth of play.  Or even more character slots because there is alot of different builds that I'd play thru the game with.  There is a certain level of repetativeness, but really not that much to bore an avid gamer.
