Well, I was looking for a new game to play and I have been looking for at this game for a very long time trying to get my friends to join. My guild disbanded on WoW, and now my friends are transferring and I do not really feel like transferring to keep playing WoW. I'm pretty much epic'd out and the game is really boring now. So, here are the questions:
1. I know this question is asked quite frequantly but looking at the player population how is it looking? Is the game going to die after a new game like Vanguard or Warhammer come out? I noticed that Gareth from the Camelot Herald is about 2000 population but used to be around 2500, and around in the afternoon mid day its about 1700.
2. Is the realm rank grinding as intense as GM in WoW? Typically in WoW terms you need 400k CP(contribution points) a week to be able to hit it with about 3-5 months or about 20 weeks.
By the way does anyone have a trial account I may use? I don't have access to my CC right now and I can't use the other 2 options so I want to try it out again. Thanks.

I play on the europe servers.
The population is quite good, but many will probaly move onto WAR if it's well done.
But DAoC costs nearly nothing today(Game+All expansions.. I paid 20$ for that), so try it out.
2)
Realm points are like xp. Kill, and you'll get some - They just add up. But to reach Realm Rank 12, you will have to work hard.. I think it's 23.000.000 realm points you need?
2) DAoC's realm ranks are never a grind and nothing at all like WoW's system. You gain points progressively from killing enemies and taking enemy forts, you don't have to wait for ranks at the end of each week you get them then and there. Your points don't decay either so if you get a new realm rank, you stay that realm rank, you don't go backwards for inactivity like you do in WoW. Also, you get to spend your realm points on new abilities that help you in battle, not mediocre items like in WoW.
"Time.." I chuckled "I hold no secret to time, though it's mystery puzzles me. Deny it's existence and lie to myself not with hopes of a quickened pace."
