Well by the looks of the polls running on SWGEMU atm and the stories of the meeting/conference taking place, it looks like its finally happening.

    yeah we hope it's not a trap set up by the Empire. BTW I would stilll rather play on private servers. I found one that I liked and it's pure swg and nothing more.

    The emu is too small and remote target for an effective lawuit.

    Hopefully not indeed, for the 1st time for once it seems to be more than just a rumour.

    Well I am actually quite excited right now, but I also realise that there have been plenty of false alarms in the past.

    Code and docs are still out there for what is done to this point, it's GPL'ed and can't be taken back.

    And thank GOD for that.  People can make their own Star Wars universe and set it up how they see fit.  Jedi as an alpha class, no Jedi at all, BHs hunting smugglers, loot drops only being enhancements to crafted items, etc. Personally, I'm enjoying the prospect of being able to remake the original SWG with my own game design.  Even if nobody else plays it, it will be MY universe, the way I think it should have been.  Most important point highlighted in red above.

    Either way, we get pre-CU back.  There is no longer a scenario where we don't.

    The pragmatic thing for LEC to do would be to either sanction it or (more wisely) benefit and set up official subscription servers.

    We can't lose either way, whether this is true or not.

    I wish someone would set up a 24/7 webcam on Wepps face as he reads about the developments...Maybe a heart monitor on the side too.

    I'd agree... but I already gave all that up.

    But still.. nobody said they're shutting down the nge. They ACT like we can't have OUR toys, but they can have theirs. Not only that, but we're dicks for wanting our toys back.

    everything we built took YEARS, whatever they have done in 8 months doesnt even compare to what we had taken away.  so you will find NO SYMPATHY HERE!!!
