The good ol' SWG forums have been providing us with loads of entertainment lately. In an effort to test the power of prognostication of our community, I would like to posit the following question to all:
What will be the big rumor of the coming week?
Please, speculate wildly. Go far afield. Use of mind-altering substances, while not endorsed by me or the fine forum Nazis, er, folks at MMORPG.com (j/k) is not expressly prohibited (besides, this way Obraik can participate since we don't know what's in the water down there in NZ

Star Wars Galaxies: The Empirical Matrix! Timeline is forwarded to post Ep 6. Emperor is dead, and is replaced by The Architect. Mon Mothma dies in a reactor accident and is replaced by The Oracle. Jabba's Palace is taken over by the Merovingian!

The EMU devs were told that making an EMU is fine as long as they wait for next December when SWG goes offline for good.

Tuesday:
In a joint statement, LEC, $OE, and Bioware announce that SWG will be sold to Bioware "as is" (no refunds).
Tuesday night:
The Bioware website crashes repeatedly all day long. Bioware receives over 500k subscription request related e-mails.
Wednesday:
Bioware announces the NGE is doomed. The rollback cometh.
Bioware also announces the establishment of an elite group of coders known only "Duck Team Alpha".
Thursday:
8 million subs are sold sight unseen to the future new-and-improved SWG, breaking WoWs stranglehold on the MMO market.
Friday:
Smedley publicly announces "We couldn't have messed SWG up more if we'd tried". Smedley further announces he will be retiring from the gaming industry and will devote the rest of his life studying Zen Buddhist rock gardens.

As much of a joke that is suposted to be, I wouldnt doubt it that people actualy have thought about that. Or at least dedicated some sort of shrine and/or ritual sacrificing circle to NGE suckage.

In an effort to bring more creative worlds and better storytelling to its online products. Sony Pictures today reached into its stable to find the their most productive and creative producer/director to take on the day to day business duties of Sony Online Entertainment. Sam Raimi
Current CEO John Smedley will continue to run the day to day operations of the company until Mr. Raimi wraps production on their upcoming Sony Pictures blockbuster, Spider Man 3. Sam's brother Ted Raimi will also be joining the company as Executive Vice President of Operations. John will be assuming a new position within Sony Pictures helping manage Sony Pictures license properties in the video game industry.

Sony Pictures enters negotiations with MMORPG.com for major sponership of there website. mmorpg.com bans all communication about EMU projects only in the star wars galaxies forum.

MMORPG.com announces they are in process of hiring and redesigning there entire web portal with Lithium boards.

Obriak is hired as a contributing editor and forum moderator of mmorpg.com
Wednesay August 2nd
Star Wars Galaxies "NGE" is reviewed by MMORPG.com by Obriak. The review glances over all of the communities concerns, questions and problems with the game. It gets a 9 out of 10 by Obriak. It will get a 10 he says "when the planned smuggler chapter is completed.:

Haxxjoo takes the plunge and gets married and Bioware and Ralph Koster threads are no longer topics of discussion on the forums. Obriak also bans discussion of pre-cu and rollback.

LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment Unveil Star Wars Galaxies(R): The Complete Advanced Reblanced New Active Game Experience.
Galaxies: The Complete Advanced Reblanced New Active Game Experience.. The CARNAGE, as it is called, will provide a morer Star Warsy and mostest iconic experience by allowing players to play Gungans. In fact all charecters will be re-speced as Gungans. Since Gungans have no hyperdrive technology, game play will be limited to Naboo (which we all know is a very Star Warsy and Iconic planet). All weapons will be reconfigured to Gungan style weapons. Bombas, Big boomers and other iconic Gungan weapons will be available.
In addition, the monthly fee for Star Wars Galaxies(R): The Complete Advanced Reblanced New Active Game Experience will be waived. In its place will be a new in-game system for subscribers. Skills and abilities can be leased on a monthly basis, as well as new weapons, vehicles and houses. A simple Gungan charecter would be free. A Gungan with a spear would cost the player approximately $8.50US. A gungan with a house and a watercraft, and some highly specialized weapons could cost $64.73US per month. SOE President John Smedley stated "Who doesn't love Gungans? Our focus groups have told us that people left the game because they felt that the lack of Gungans was racist. So we have added them in the game in a big way."
Also , Sony Online Entertainment is offering a trade-in program . If you are a World of Warcraft subscriber and trade-in your World of Warcraft account, you will receive a unique in-game gift of a maroj melon. Sony will sell these traded in World of Warcraft Accounts on EBay and expects to make a killing!
The se new Stars Warsiest and best mostestedly iconic changes will be on Test Center tomorrow and LIVE August 1, 2006.
