New and Fresh Ideas WoW Better Watchout

This game looks to be a breath of fresh air to MMORPGs. There are some many now which all seem the same. This game looks like it will be a contender. As long as the people get that SOE has nothing to do with developement maybe some of those angry SWG players will actually pickup a good game to play once it is released. Cant wait for it.

SWG getting past SOE's bull... never going to happen!

but because they are not developing the game some might join... who knows

Why do people hype a game they havent even read about anyway!

In regards to the number of classes, one of the reasons there are only 6 classes is because there isn't a need for more right now.  Instead of just dumping 12 random classes in the game and making them mediocre, we opted for a smaller, more logically meaningful number.  We evaluated each class and how we saw them performing in the game and with other players in groups.  The most important thing for us was creating classes that were powerful and balanced; creating something that gave players the feeling that they were truly a "child of the gods."

It's important to keep in mind that there are a lot of critical points to balance in Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising and that we don't want to make the mistake of dropping a class into the game just for the sake of having it,  yet in the rush or desire to just add countless classes, we don't properly build that class to fit in the world we are creating.

It's also important to note that this is what we're starting out with, who knows what we'll have around the corner!

Pfft, you really think this game will contend, with World of Warcraft, won't even make a dent. (I am not a World of Warcraft fan by the way)

    Just my two cents
What I am finding most refreshing about this title are the developers. They visit these sites, make comments, discuss the game with their #1 contact...US, their customer. Here is where it will take away the powers of WoW. As well lets look at this...
    1. The setting is unique
    2. Combat looks aggresive, and varied
    3. Graphics look very good, and animation is sweet.
    4. The capability to form a small army (slight exaggeration...reminds me of GW henchmen), but with almost RTS type controls...awesome.

Right now, this game and Chronicles of Spellborn both prove that the standard Elf/Dwarf/Grind/Level up need not apply for a good game...fingers are crossed

Certainly the fans of guildwars will like this.. seems to be the same general concept... just enhanced i guess

Not hardly, this game seems to be standing out on it's own for the most part.  Comparing G&H with GW is like apples and oranges at this point.  If I did have to compare it with other MMO's I have played it would seem to me it's more like a combination of several all in one.  Go to there main web site and read up on it, you would be amazed at the information available and the Dev/community involvment with this game.

What are u talking about? this game has almost no similarities with guild wars. First off if u heard it was full instanced you were misinformed check up on all the sites and the recent interviews in which people keep saying over and over again that this game is only about 30% instanced. (Last ? on page one fromhttp://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/setview/features/loadFeature/774/gameID/187). Please explain how you think this game is even remotely similar to guild wars

The SWG players are too stubborn to leave that game for some reason. They're not going to come over to God and Heroes.

Nothing will de-throne WoW for a while. It's at the top right now and only keeps risinsg. Until it starts losing it's 6 MILLION player database, we can leave it at the top.

The game looks good. WoW killer? No. Innovative? Maybe. The best? It's what I want to play :)

I think we will take the throne from WoW, not fast. But slowly.

    It's a class-based "Target and attack" fantasy-style mmorpg.

Please avoid using phrases like "Innovative". The word is beginning to become devalued.

There are no elves, orcs, goblins or other "fantasy-style" things in the game. And innovation is defined as introducing something new and as such, Gods and Heroes will fall into the innovative category.

I will buy this new and innovative game on its first official day, without a doubt.

Ok I can tell u haven’t done your research on this game so I am going to only give you one innovative feature in GnH and that’s squad based combat.

who ever said this game was like guild wars could not be more wrong just coz the got AI playing along side you does not mean it will be like guild wars remember Baldur's gate they had AI not good one but so Gods and Heroes is brining some thing new to the word mmorpg you get to have some control on the dum AI at last tell them what to do when to join in the action and more.

The battle look beautiful some thing out of an old fighting game where you do moves on you aponants grab them in a head lock kick sand in there eyes what more do you want its new its not grind its fun and best of all its not WoW

I keep coming back to this title. The information I hear gets better and better, as I have heard an excellent quest system is in place, more control of your AI henchmen, dress up your henchmen (squad units...lets drop the henchie context), unique setting, but with the fantasy feel still (Hey this is Like God of War for the PS2  MMO style...just look at the combat videos...hmmm...anyone else see it?)
I have played around with, and tested, and reviewed so many titles in my search of a new game (as I am a WoW fanboy, yet, NOT a Blizzard fan...support is the "suxor"), I just keep coming back here...as this game provides a different feel, and look.
All my hopes lie on a good story, great gameply and overall fun.
    Fingers crossed......

Yet another new MMO that's looking better and better as time goes on. I'm looking forward to P.E.'s launch of G&H ... sooooo many games  ... and so few actually AVAILABLE yet

The more I read and research the more exciting this one appears. I really like the involvement by the dev's as well!
