I just realised why my fiance doesn't like me playing these games now.
The graphics are astounding... Yet i somehow feel as though I am looking at a Lineage 2 model. Anyone else with me on this?

GAwd, that looks ljust like Lineage2 (or as someone used to say Line Age 2 lol) graphics!
I have to admit, this game is looking pretty good everytime a see a new screenshot.

Yes, Im a little dissapointed that the models are similar to L2. Here's hoping the game isnt as a whole. I would hate to see two games looking exactly the same but with a different name. Actually come to think of it, I did have this disscussion in a previous post some time ago and it makes sense now. The company behind GW are an affiliate of NCsoft, the Company who brought you L2. No wonder they look exactly alike!

If they put the same sort of attention into gameplay, Guild Wars is going to be great.
i agree that the models do look an awful like some of the L2 models but then i realised... how is that a bad thing?... L2 has great models so how could a game with models just as good looking be bad lol...
im not planning on playing Guild Wars myself (heading to Lineage 2 instead) but it's looking to be a great game...
there's only one thing bothering me about it tho... the game is based around guild vs. guild combat and uses great graphics to sell it... meanwhile thats bassically what Lineage 2 is doing as well... its based around clan vs. clan combat and uses great graphics to sell it...
already i know this game wont do as well as Lineage 2 mostly because Lineage 2 is coming out earlier and it has much more hype behind it...
this does show that NCSoft is workin tho ^^ with games like Lineage 2, Guild Wars, City of Heroes and Exarch coming out all in the same year and all from the same company, you know their werkin hard over there
i just hope there some enough people left over after Lineage 2 to fill a couple Guild Wars server's ^^

I believe that there will be. I think that L2 will suffer the same fate as SWG - lots of hype followed closely by dissapointment after release. The game doesn't really offer anything revolutionary. It's the same ol' hack and slash, just like most korean games out there.

It's not in beta anymore in Korea, it's a released P2P product, all the other countries betas that are currently going on are primarily for server stressing I believe. I don't think they will rewrite the whole game for one country or another. Saying that, I agree with you it is just another hack and slash game, I was having fun in the Taiwan Open Beta until I hit around level 20 and realized it was the same thing over and over and over and over. The only thing it has going for it is, the PvP and Seige Warfare, I think it will appeal to alot of the old school UO players for that alone, the system they have is the closest to UO's original PvP set up that I have seen yet.
