Server's Economy

I heard the economy of some servers are preety dawn f*cked up... I'm still waiting for my game arrival (bought on e-bay) and I'm trying to learn the most I can before start playin. A friend of mine told me that there were some gil selling sites and the prices of the itens in the game went crazy... I gathered some info about this subject and found out that Square banned like 2000 accounts, and that was supposed to restablish the economy...

what's the situation now?

I also realized that there is a link to a gil selling site in the FFXII links section of this site. Isn't that illegal?

Situation now is that prices are deflating a little bit, but all those banned accounts have been made up for. The gilsellers are all leveling new characters. So within a month or 2 prices will be right back up there.

If you're going to lie at least make it reasonalbe, Wax sword +1 15k. Prices on all the HQ's are always more expencive, but they're.. omg... HIGH QUALITY.

Prices are just a number, and anything big people always freak out because they try to farm goblins for 25gil a pop. This may sound harsh, but its true, If you're not RETARDED then making money in this game should be fairly easy.

listen punk 50k on Bahamut and Valefor and  How about orange juice 900g, Goblin Mask 2k, Amarrylis 1k, zinc ore 1k ,Silver ore 2k,  bronze Bed 200k, Bloodstone belt 25k. Dont believe me tough chit. and your RETARDED comment about money being easy to get is just wrong especially at lower lvls.  Of course i wouldnt expect an ebayer/gil buyer to have any $ problems. ^^

The whole ecomony is fubar. People are dishonest and openly try to take advantage of stupid people. The latest event started and the moogles started selling the little summer fans and the fireoworks. Now you cant take a step for running into to some punk trying to sell those items in bazaar for 50-5kg, Forget  it being a new player and trying to begin tradeskills even the most basci of items are outrageously priced and if you happen to have the initiative to go gather your own mats then expect to be in competition with high level jerks farming. I cant tell you how mant times Ive seen high level ppl(casters) run around and gather up 10-20 mobs and nuke them all in one blast farming this crap.

I see you're talking about the Starter nation AH, because Jeuno is 10k on Bahamut And Valfore. Bronze Bed Bahamut 25k, Bloodstone belt 1k or 95gil form the NPC in kazham.

Do you realize I just proved if you're not stupid, you can buy from the NPC and make 24,05gil Profit.

    Go to http://www.ffxiah.com/

See the prices on stuff. It doesn't have all the latest buys, for some reason it's like a week late :X but it's better than nothing.

What is the best way to make money? Right now I am using a elvaan fighter. Should I quest? Or should I just kill mobs? I could use your advice on this thanks.

Take a deep drink of your demon Lad, tonight we tangle with the fire in the gut.

Keep Signet on you and sell stacks of crystals. Kill goblins(for beast armor pieces)crawlers(for silk) that sort of thing and sell them for as much as possible. Its sad that the ecomony is like it is but one person cant change it and if you cant beat them then join them its the only way to survive. There are some repeatable quests that give ok coin rewards check the site below.

I'm on Sylph and the econ is pretty screwed up I gotta say. The inflation was worse than I expected and the prices for many basic crafting recipes fluctuate quite a bit - enough that I can't even give you a decent example of prices. The ores can seemingly double or go less than half of their "average" prices which is pretty crazy imo =/

also, what happened to tele-taxing? @_@ is it just sylph or other servers? I just got to jeuno and everyone was shouting "teleport-holla can i have it? 2k reward"
When I quit (I was in Lakshmi though), there were at LEAST 4-5 whm all the time in lower jeuno spamming tele-taxing services, never more than 500g for holla/mea/dem and never more than 1k for others, even Vazhl. Now there's a very apparently lack of tele-taxis and the prices for holla/dem are at least 2k, with mea up to 4k and Yhoat/Altep/Vazhl at the exorbitant cost of 5k to 10k 0_o

On Saturday I watched my friend (on Sylph) tele-whoring and he made about 80k in roughly 45 minutes teleporting people around from Jeuno.  He was willing to teleport people for only 500, but he took what they offered him.  From what he tells me (I haven't confirmed myself) these teleports spells are worth like 300k+ each, so these teleports seem to be a fair price given the investment involved in getting the teleport spells (or potential gain given up by not selling the scrolls after doing the quest).

Yeah I asked some people online and they all agreed that teleports cost 3k+ because the scrolls are expensive and it takes time. But the scrolls costed more or less the same 2 years ago @_@...Actually when I was on Lakshmi some scrolls were even *more* expensive back in 2004. Teleport-Vazhl for example was always on low supply in the AH and costed upward of half a million gil, but the WHM still sold the teleport for ~1k per person, maybe ~1.5k at most when there isn't much competition.

Not to mention that all the scrolls can be obtained through quests, they aren't that hard either.

Prices go up with inflation, A lot of whm quit tele-taxing because it became less profitiable, 500gil is 500gil, but when the prices on everything else rise around you, 500gil just doesn't cut it anymore. Tele-taxing became a waste of time, there were many other things, even farming that would be more profitable. So some whm started charging more. And now, so many whm have quit and moved on, People start offering 3k+ in order to catch A teleporters attetion and pull them away from what they're doing to tele.

Edit: Last thing, a 42 whm cannot solo Vazhl, that one is not easilly accomplished, the rest of them though, the hardest thing is aquiring the fame.

Getting Elshimo Marble is by far more time consuming for a 38 WHM than getting the fame for Tele-Yhoat.
