Welll it seems that, once again, the major prize from the constest(an ATI Radeon X1900XFX!!!) has gone to someone who really isn't in this community... I mean:

... Is this plain bad luck(good luck for the guy) for everyone who visits this site daily and is an active community member? It seems that almost everytime the people who win the major prizes are the ones who only join this site for the contests... Once again I say it:
The people should get more entries depending on their ranking (stars).... that way, the people who are active, and really do more that come here to check the contests, would get better chances to win than those who do nothing... Just my opinion...
(May also be that I'm sad for not wining it
, but lets pray he doesn't confirm it, and it goes to someone who deserves it more..(like me :P))

I won 60 days time card for Horizons except I never got a private message or email to confirm so I lost it... Not even my fault since I posted on these forums about it but no mods read them.. Hopefully next time I win, that won't happen.

Honestly though, I've visited this site pretty much every day for the past 1 to 1-1/2 years. I have a low amount of posts because I'm active on other forums, but I still read and participate here at times.
I'd only hope that if I ended up winning something big eventually (which I've never won anything), I wouldn't get the type of response that was given in this post.

Hey all,
I just want to add that we appreciate all of our members, posters and non posters alike. People who visit the site and read articles, read the forums (not necessarily post) and rate/hype games are an equally great part of MMORPG.com from those that post in the boards.
We realized a need for some kind of perk to the dedicated memebrs which is why we added the "login bonus" system a while back and it does give a healthy edge to those that login often. If you login 25 days during a contest you will get 6 total tickets in the "hat" - which really helps!
But you have to understand if we setup our contests so that only hard core, forum junkies (no offense, we love our forum junkies!) could win, then what would motivate the "new guy" that just joined today to even bother entering?
To be fair and equal it needs to be random, and as long as you found our site on the day the contest started - you have an equal shot at it - which seems fair.
Sorry to those who did not win this round (it was our 2nd largest contest to date with 17000 entries!) - but who knows you might just win a LoTRO Beta!!!

Yeah really, that already happens here daily, hence why my post count is so low...there's hardly ever anything worth even commenting on in these forums anymore because most of it is either trolling or whining. /shrug.
I still visit the site daily and browse the forums and news articles for interesting information, but the large number of trolls that have taken up residence on the forums pretty much keep from posting. Post count and "stars" mean absolutely nothing as far as I'm concerned, since the moderation of these forums is so lax to begin with. Maybe if the forum's rules and regulations were enforced with some modecum of regularity it would be different, but currently it isn't.
Just my opinion of course, which I am sure will attract several trolls to come and either flame or try and bait me.

kidding... It's just sad to see that the person who won.. still hasn't even logged in.. Clearly they haven't logged in 25 days during this contest. It sucks that the real people who visit this site and read and stuff... have to sit here and watch..while a X1900 is up for grabs... but the winner doesn't even want it... it's a kick in the face if you ask me..

Eh, the only contest I ever won was an AO: AI beta invite, which was fun.
I sign up for every contest (even the Horizons contest, just to see if I would win
) and have only won one.
Personally, I am really hoping to get a beta slot for LotRO. My girlfriend has been a total LotR freak since she was a child, and will kill me if I don't get her a beta slot (we each have signed up for beta, and she wants to sign up for the contest here and try to win).
Anyways, best of luck in winning the card. If it wasn't an ATI I would have loved to win. If I did though, I would just eBay it, so don't hate me
