CRAFTING! Please keep in mind that I was a weaponsmith from Sept of 03 up until that travesty hit in November.
Boo! How dare you call crafting "Insignificatnt"!! The reason I didn't add that was because I thought that crafting was a very significant part of the game.
1) Those Stormtroopers that would periodically come through the Cnet cantina, talking smack to anyone there and accusing them of being rebel scum. First time I saw it, I was a-feared they were gonna get me even though I hadn't declared to either side at the time.
2) trying to /slap your Stormtrooper pet without having much in the way of rank - they'd one-shot incap you, probably the second funniest thing I ever saw in-game.

dancing and playing music with my girlfriend in the cantina for hours (we played side-by-side at our computers). Do you guys realize how awesome it is to a have a girlfriend fall in love with the same game as you do? Days full of good times, what can I say!

After I started becoming popular with the gals, my wife subscribed to keep a better eye on me and began to enjoy the game. Rancor hunts with the wife and the guild...sweet, sweet fun.
Talk about somebody that the NGE was targeted for? She was the ultimate casual gamer. Loved Star Wars, was not a hardcore gamer. She began to really enjoy SWG before the CU and even during the CU still played, just less often. Two days into NGE and it was over for her. Totally unplayable.
You could say they missed their mark by more than a little.
But the time I spent ingame with her really did strengthen our marriage, for we spent a lot more time together as a result.
I realize I said I quit. I never said it was forever
The first time I saw the '/sing' emote, I knew what I wanted to be...a troubador. I learned just enough music to emote on an instrument, wrote a few cheesy lyrics, and made a killing in credits at starports. Was one of the coolest times I ever had in a MMORPG.

My wife and sister both played star wars galaxies with me. Now .. they dont play ANY online game...nothing appeals to them. It was fun back in the good ol' days....
I remember walking into cantinas on a regular basis ...and rarely seeing afk entertainers. I miss having conversations with people in there. On a side note: I dont think ANY game now has the social interaction that swg brought.
The sheer excitement when I finally got the novice TKA skill.
Seeing a mount for the first time they were put in game.
The enjoyment when a group of 6 of us finally took down a mountain squill. (Those big nasty troll like things on tattooine ...that look like Rod Stewart... they were tough to kill back then)
