Hey just wondering if anyone else has heard about this game called Aion...

Anyone know when this game goes into open beta. Watch the video of the game play its awsome!!!http://eu.plaync.com/eu/games/overview/aion

    yea its not out yet but the screen shots and moive clips show pretty effect and nice gameplay but won't really no till its fully tested

    I saw the video a few times myself. Couldn't get enough of it. I hope this game is not heavy grind. I do perfer quest-driven, something like Guild Wars', and looking at the interview it seems to be story driven.

    I think they didnt gave a proper date atm. But it looks realy good so lets wait and have an eye on it

    I'm just wary of it turning out to be another Lineage II (mindless grindfest).

    I think it is supposed to go into closed beta in late 2006/early 2007.

    I'm pretty sure it will be. I haven't seen one good korean mmorpg thus far that isn't a grindfest, also they all are pretty much the same (UI, gameplay, art etc.). However, this one could turn out to be something else, only time will tell.

    *Your game is over-hyped. DnL was over-hyped. Aion will be like DnL. (sticks tongue out) Don't come crying when Aion turns out to be another DnL. Oh,and maybe like AoM too.

    *Korean MMO? Bah,time for another grindfest/L2 clone. Because I don't play games (not really. I grind on that other game I play,what's it called? WOW?) that are grindfests,maybe like L2. I'll grind on another game,thanks. No,I don't subscribe to racial MMO stereotypes,honest. 

    *No beta date? Bah,time to call it quits just because they've been working on it for (insert how long Aion has been in the works for).

    I think Aion will be quite impressive. It'd be nice to play a beta/fall back upon it should DF delay/screw up beta terribly.

       This game appears to be a blatant ripoff of an indie game called Kaos War . He even badmouths ncsoft in one of the episodes. I can't say it surprises me though, seems every mmo out of asia in the last few years have been rehashed garbage.

           Flying isn't going to be all that good... you just go to a certain place to sprout wings and follow strict flight paths.

Would be interesting to know, because it could be the difference between an actual game attempting to do something new, or just a quick gimmick thrown onto a Korean clone.

    Yeah its been stated, not sure where because I do a lot of random reading but I'll try and find out where they said that.  They also said that they're wondering if they should give the players more freedom in it instead of it being like that..

    in E3 , NCsoft had a booth with the MMOs there working on , and one of them was Aion , and they had a little trial for the game , and they said that the "Flying" is like WoW the grifins , its a path that you take flying , but in the future they could do it freely , like the Wyverns in Lineage 2 for about 200,000,000 adenas at the Fary in the Enchanted Forest :P

    It looks very good,nice idea to but I'm still not crazy about the damage meter spamming above your head,maybe there will be a option to turn that off.

    Waiting on Guild Wars 2
