Lineage 2 is indeed an awesome game if you enjoy pvp. that is, untill Age of Conan will hit the stores.
I was really excited about AoC until someone told me it wasn't going to have Open PvP..

Age of conan will be HORRIBLE for pvp. It has instanced pvp , levels , classes. all kinds of restrictions does not make a good pvp experience. sorry

AoC will be far more skilled than any other game out there to shear fact that it has real time combat. A part of the PvP is instanced, but there will also be castle sieges and drunken brawls in taverns. The best part is of course castle sieges and that won't be instanced. To balance PvP funcom has actually seperated PvE and PvP with level as far I remember from an interview. Items will also be different in PvP if memory serves me well. This will make the game really balanced, thus even more skilled than any other MMO out there. Read about the game before you talk about it.

Depends on how much is handled on server site and client site. It works fine for Planetside and hit detection is probably more accurate there. Wait and see. This also counts for Space Cowboys. Hit detection worked great. If you are good and know when to roll you can dodge missiles with your human skill not some in-game stat.

What the heck does it matter if the game has levels or is skill based? it doesn't matter if player A is lvl 4 and player B lvl 25 or if player A has swordskill 15 and player B swordskill 85, Player B is still going to beat the living shit out of player A. it doesn't matter if played A has picked a Paladin class and Played B a Warrior class or if Played A has put 50 points in swordmanship and 20 points in healing magic and player B 70 points in Axe fighting.

sure, theres a grind but I mean I played EQ2 for over a year and grinded my ass off to reach mid 30's. Ive broke 30 in just over a month when I returned around the end of June in lineage 2 with a LOT less effort. I guess its easy to slap the old "level grind tag" on the pinacle korean MMO when its time to make a point about any flaw within the game
you can hunt raid bosses which ..can be very challenging (read, need a large party). but a single raid boss can reap upwards to 18% experience and a significant bump in sp
but yes, lineage 2 is for hardcore gamers. there arent any marshmallow roasters in towns to sit around and show off your new dress that you crafted for your female night elf. Its also no more mind numbingly grinding as any other MMO with the exception of WoW which is effortless.
