I take back what i wrote earlier about a post being the most ridiculous i'd ever read. This is it.
WTF, I NEVER had a fotm template and I thought I did pretty well in pvp. I had fun at least. Hell i had fun running around on my BH/ID.
When i think of the top pvp'ers i knew, Mimi and Minya were MCM, there were several riflemen/melee like Copy and Raziel, there were countlessl BH and later bh/melee after they changed the pre-reqs, Ivon the green twilek fencer was a beast, Kni'il tore people new ones with his pikes and rifles, you ran the other way when you saw Ashowi with her Pike/melee template, I think it was one of Robbin's characters that had the insane swordsman, tkm was a great base for any template, Doctor complemented any melee profession... have i named every combat profession yet or shall i keep goin?
There were tons of things wrong with pre-cu, dont get me wrong, and I know someone liking the NGE is possible in this day in age of Britney spears and Sean Paul, but Pirrg has gone into new territories with his delusions.
The most successful form of SWG??? I'd like to know your definition of success, because it aint the same as mine or the dictionary's.
I hope u enjoy your free game card from Julio in exchange for the kind words lmao.It can only go up huh? well they have about 1 million feet or more of concrete and earth to go through to get out that hole right now there 1/2 way to china. As for new subs and people coming back what is a lot? lol 5 ? 6? its not 300k and it never will be thats what matters...
We're sitting in our offices thinking of ways to upset our paying customers. I think were on track to meet that goal.

I don't see what the point of this thread is. No one really thinks that this game's doing alright. The devs don't even seem to be trying to pretend anymore. They're all too busy play hot potato with the blame. No one on the official board seems to think things are going alright, either.
It's just one bored troll coming to post in a place he knows he'll get some attention. Though, I admit, I've missed it. We need a few more fanatics on these boards to liven the place up a little. Even if they don't believe it, it's nice to flame the fanboys every once and awhile.

My Sentiments exactly. Piirg just got put in his place when he was caught in another disillusioned lie in another thread:CLICKY4U
From the LA Website: June 28, 2004 - "Launched a year ago, Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided quickly became the fastest growing massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) in North America andtoday boasts over 500,000 registered users, with more than 115,000 players logging into the game every day."
I'd be surprised if the NGE, this game that is, in your words, Improving everyday, is even over 25k subs.
I've noticed that the people that love the NGE are mostly the people that sucked and no one liked them in PreNGE. It's kind of a pattern I noticed early on.
Obraik is really about the only NGE fan that ever even makes sense. I feel bad for him...He is like the One Eyed King in the Land of the Blind.

Valid question.
Certainly you can understand that the larger number of professions created more complexity in the living organism we will call SWG society. There were players who played those professions and had material needs as a result. Those needs created purpose for a lot of things.
The number of resources that were gathered AND consumed in pre-CU were a lot higher as a result of more classes using them. This indirectly created a market of leftover resources. Whatever you wanted to find, you could. Post-CU and especially post-NGE it was difficult to find a good selection of the resources you needed to perform your craft. This in turn was frustrating to most people who would try crafting as a secondary profession and forced them out of it. Forcing those borderline crafters out makes reselling of resources more difficult and caused resellers to quit as well, making the situation feed itself. I bet it is still getting worse.
When I was a Weaponsmith pre-CU, I enjoyed hiring combat players to go get Geonosian artifacts and Krayt tissues so I could create enhanced weapons. Not only was this the way to making good credits, but it was very satisfying creating awesome weapons. NGE killed all that TBH.
After you made that awesome weapon, you take it to a smuggler and have him slice it, hoping for the particular slice you want. So there was some more interpersonal interaction that disappeared from the game as well as the satisfaction of getting a 33% damage slice on that enhanced Stun Baton or T21. Woot!
Looted weapons being so much better now makes the Weaponsmith not as important to the community. Needless to say, that puts a real damper on feeling like part of a bigger whole. Yes, you can still be a part of the community, but to nowhere near the extent you should be able to. Not all of us get off on shooting each other to pieces and dancing on others' corpses.
Healing others was always fun too. I met many a friend by riding by and healing them when they were low on health. Training skills was always a way to meet new people as well.
PvP is not the only way to enjoy the "multiplayer" part of an MMORPG. Being an important member of the community used to be a great way as well.
I understand buddy, and i feel for you and every other crafter in swg. We can only hope that the trader expertise chapter will be a good one. Something like reverse engineering would give trader crafter items alot of their appeal back. Personally i still buy armours and weapons from my local trader rather then hunt for loot items, but i realize most people simply dont do that anymore.
In my opinion loot weapons arent that horrible, its the quest weapons that really ruin the trade for crafters. Weapons and armours you get from the ToOW and ROTW expansions, and they were released pre-nge.

I really dont understand why some people think it will fail when the game has been progressively getting better in every area since the NGE hit. _______________________________________________________________________________________

It says a lot about a company when they make all of their game breaking changes days after releasing a pay to use expansion.
